If I had the energy I could probably dance into the white house. Honestly though being in large groups of people is more physical draining then working.

I don't know.

I think my desire for social interaction might be below normal but my work involves dealing with tons of people so that might be why I mostly like being alone on my days off.

ETA: people have always confused and fascinated the shit out of me.

I really dislike being around people.  Usually, it is my wife and I
alone (now that the kids are gone).  We both dislike the effort
"friends" take, and like and enjoy each others company.  My daughter is the same
as me.  My son however, is in the extrovert++ class.

I suppose
that is why, since my first job in 1970 until today, I have worked
mostly alone, even during my 9.95 years in the Army.  Probably a good reason I have been doing tech stuff in dark corners and closets for the past 30 years -

Interestingly,
in 2007 I decided to get my teaching cert, and since I retired from my real job in 2013, I have become a middle & high school
teacher (computer science), meaning I am surrounded by kids.  I love being around and teaching the kids,
but really do not like being around the adults at meetings and in social settings.

I view people as tools and use them as such, I think that makes me a sociopath.  But as long as it's for the betterment of society Im a nice sociopath, right?

That is exactly how I am.  I work with different people every day, and I don't mind it at all.  Hell, I love my job.  But when it comes to "me" time, I am not one to want to go out and be around people and stuff.  I like to just chill for the most part, maybe with a girl that I am dating at the time or with a couple of buddies.

Yes, and i am a outside sales person for a machine gun rental range.  I am in constant conflict.....

Last week I put myself out on a large busy street median and was barking like a carnival barker to any one that passed.   "We have AR's AK's H&K's, Belt fed M60's Browning 1919's, real guns real bullets! Come have some fun after the convention folks!

I can only do this if i go in to "barker mode".  Otherwise it is a real struggle to engage people, and with the reactions i get while making random visits to places to drop off some info, It can get kind of disparaging.

Yes, but I can put on a good game face if needed. I'd just rather sit by a fire with a good cigar and beer.

I really do enjoy my own space... Not that I get a lot.   large groups just means dealing with a higher percentage of problems and is always considered. Iv mentioned having introvert tendencies and that gets a good laugh from friends so my idea or thiers of introvertness might be off

I thought I was, but then I found out I thrive on social interaction, and was just lonely and depressed. I'm a people person, and a social butterfly. I don't mind alone time every once in a while, but do much prefer the company of others.

Yes, I live on 6 acres and after someone bought the 13 acres next to me and built a house, I decided I need at least 30 acres.

I work in an office setting so I get my share of interaction. I just really like being outdoors on weekends and not be bothered.

I would rather be at home working on my property than anything. Today I opted to stay home with my son who is sick while my wife and other kids go to the in laws. We are going to watch True Grit. I'll probably burn some stuff later. I don't have a problem with people necessarily, but would rather avoid large crowds.

From wiki, I probably fit this description.

Introverts often take pleasure in solitary activities such as reading, writing, cutting wood, using computers, burning shit, hiking and fishing. The archetypal artist, writer, sculptor, engineer, composer and inventor are all highly introverted. An introvert is likely to enjoy time spent alone and find less reward in time spent with large groups of people, though he or she may enjoy interactions with close friends. Trust is usually an issue of significance: a virtue of utmost importance to introverts is choosing a worthy companion. They prefer to concentrate on a single activity at a time and like to observe situations before they participate, especially observed in developing children and adolescents. They are more analytical before speaking. Introverts are easily overwhelmed by too much stimulation from social gatherings and engagement, introversion having even been defined by some in terms of a preference for a quiet, more minimally stimulating external environment.

Yeah, I'm alone for thanksgiving this year.

I got invited over to a few places but I've politely declined. I'm rather enjoying being alone today.

Too much work in the past few weeks, wanted a few days to relax alone with the dog, bourbon and some beers.

I bought a house on 5 acres, then ten acre parcels on each side so we wouldn't have any neighbors besides the one. Thinking about another 7 or 15 that are available and seal the deal. It won't be enough though I can still see other houses.

Not really an introvert... just socially lazy I guess.  I find that most people that like to group up are socially malleable and will conform to groupthink  in order to get along, then there is  the wanna-be alphas that like to dictate the speed.  I find it tedious to deal with either type and usually end up saying things that piss people off.

INTJ.   Totally introverted.   I hate dealing with people but have been in sales for 15 years until the company shit down our office a few weeks ago. Now I just stay home with the kids and never really have to deal with anyone again. ??

Yes and I agree.

It's exhausting.

When I want to be, I'm great at it.

However one of my pet peeves is small talk or chatting.

Holy fuck, choke me.

No.

Its just the way I am. Its neither good nor bad. I CAN socialize but I HATE doing it. I despise "chatting" for no reason and view it as a complete and total waste of time. My father in law, a man I like, can have idol chatter for hours and hours and hours. He is 180 degrees from me and interacting with him exhausts me physically and mentally. If he is in a situation where he HAS to be quiet it will wear on him.

People are different, no right or wrong way to be IMO. I will say that most extroverts I know view me as being "broken" and that does annoy me quite a bit. They seem to think that they have it "right' and introversion is anti social.
