I have read posts where people say if they are wearing pants they have a holster and handgun on their hip
but even inside your home ? I keep a couple of guns loaded inside my home but never even thought to carry one while inside my home. |
|
Yes, yes, fucking yes.
I conceal carry anyway so it just stays on. I have a shoulder holster for hanging out at home on "naked Tuesday"!!! jk |
|
100% of home invasions happen at home.
Always have a pistol near by as long we arent all drinking or there are children over. Then its on my person. |
|
No, almost never in fact.
But I nearly always have one nearby. |
|
I may not be carrying, but I'm never more than arms reach from a long gun or pistol.

Yep, when I'm home the most valuable thing I own is in that house, my life.
I can't think of a single reason not to carry in your home? What's the downside of carrying in your home? |

Nope. When I get home, off it comes. I may sit it on the night stand or table. I like to lounge around and be comfortable when I'm home and done.
If I'm going to be outside doing something then I will. I have wrought iron doors, if they rip them off then I'm going to guess it's not some street thugs and I'm probably screwed anyway |
|
Better to have it handy in an emergency than run to get it.

So, in your mind, people carry a gun because they are afraid? Are police officers afraid, too? |

If I'm dressed I carry. On occasions when I hang out in comfy clothes that won't support a holster, the pistol is sitting right beside or in front of me... there was one occasion that I thought someone was breaking in that confirmed that always being armed is the right choice.

Yes but I don't walk around like some tier 1 mall ninja.
I carry everyday at work so it's more habit than anything. If you really think objectively home invasions are pretty common in some areas. If someone was to kick in your door are you going to run to your bedroom? It's my hope that I never ever need to use it, but I'll be damned if I needed to it's sitting in a drawer etc. Also for those of us with dogs or farm animals in the country. Bobcats , Coyotes etc. I guess what I'm saying is that the people that do may not be so crazy or extreme. Now if your walking around the apartment every night with a Barrett .50 cal then you may have issues or live in Shitcago. |
|
Its within arms reach.I dont sit around in pants. Soon as my uniform comes off I'm shorts and tshirt.

Where do home invasions happen?
In your home. When do home invasions happen? When you're home. |
|
|
On me or within arms reach. 95% of the time...
I'm not perfect. Sometimes I leave it in the bedroom whilst I shower, I guess that isn't the most 'strategic' place for it if SHTF... Also generally on work days, since I don't carry at work, I usually don't have it on me... Granted I have a rifle and pistol in my truck, but in a 'seconds count' situation, shit all good that would be (pistol is 'tactically' located for fast access, so whilst driving I pretty much have a carry gun OMW to work). Once I leave my truck though, I'm a sheep... I may need to invest in a decent little pocket-carry gun, which would be the only 'reasonable' way to carry. Given the nature of my job, twisting/turning/picking things up, etc. The G19 would show far too much... |
|
Yea (unless I'm drinking)
I carry at about 1-2 O clock so when I'm sitting on the couch my glock 19 isn't digging into me or anything. |
|
When I put my britches on in the morning I stick a KelTec .32 in my right front pocket and it stays there all day long regardless of where I end up during the day. So I'd have to say yes I do carry in the house,

Part of getting dressed for me. I know someone personally that had his door kicked in while he was in the john after he had taken his carry gun off and left it in the bedroom. After hearing that story, I try to never be without a gun within arms reach.

Why the fuck do you care what other people do in their own home that has absolute shit to do with you and your life? Who the fuck cars if someone is afraid of a home invasion and carry in their own fucking house? Get a fucking life and get off this forum if that's the shit you have to contribute. |

It's not that weird, really.
If I have pants on, I have a holster on, if I have a holster on, there's a pistol in it. I also carry a wallet at home, when my pants are on, almost never need that either! |
|
The rule is really simple----if I'm wearing clothes I have a gun on.
|
|
No, but I have a number in reach. And if there is an unexpected knock on the door (we live a little off the beaten path), there's one on me.
