Turkey fryer accidents kicking off in 5.4.3.2.1

I'll get at least one call from the medical examiner tomorrow after someone decides being alone on thanksgiving means they should do themselves in.

God bless each and every one of you.  I've finally moved up the seniority totem pole to the point that I can get holidays off in my agency.  I remember.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys.  Be safe.

Got off at 0700.  I work security at a level 2 trauma center.  There was almost nothing last night.  One verbally combative pysch case that I got called to.  I talked that one down and  got the patient to listen to the staff.

Medical side had a couple critical medical patients, but nothing to bad.  All in all one of the quietest nights since I started working there.

Level 2 here also.  Our night shift got their asses handed to them last night.  84 bed ED.  I think they had to tie down 9 last night, 2 employee injury reports, 2 staff assaults and Incident reports for miles.  The Doc's were handing out ativan, haldol and giodon like it was candy.  Occasionally I'm glad I got moved to days.

Tacoma or Spokane?

Doesn't matter, both are drowning in meth.  I have a first cousin who is a Charge Nurse up that way.

Well, don't feel like the Lone Ranger today, we'll start running calls about mid afternoon and won't slow down until probably midnight.  Believe it or not, most of our EMS calls today will be the result of domestics during dinner.  If we're going to catch a working fire, it'll be before noon.

After 19 years of it, that's probably the number one thing that I do not miss about being on shift.  Been on the railroad for a little over 3 years now and haven't worked a major holiday yet.  To all of you on shift today, thanks for your dedication and I hope you get an uninterrupted meal later.
