get an older marlin 30-30 model 336
put a small leupold scope on top get a S&W 357 mag 686 with a minimum 4" barrel pocket the remaining $3500 |

How much are those Russian contract 1895s worth? I recently saw one in .303 British for about $2K, so I don't know how much a Russkie would go for. Decent 1895s can be found around $1k, but the Russian contract ones are way more... OP said he had a $5k budget I know, just providing context. I sold a decent shooter grade 1895 in .30-40 for under $1k, and I've seen Russian muskets go for $3k, so there you go. If I was going to pick an 1895, it'd be in .405, personally. |

for that money you can Get a nice Colt Python and pretty much whatever you wanted for your lever gun, Or you can go all out and get a WWG Copilot.
