I have an Inforce APL on my SIG. I like it quite a bit. Nice and bright with easy to work controls.

I like TLR-1s. Never used a Surefire but I'm sure it's good too. Personally, I do not want a 6,000 lumen light on my HD gun. Good way to blind yourself.

I went X300. Frankly, I think the only real advantage that Streamlights in general offer over Surefire is that "rechargeable" is cheaper in general to feed than "CR123."
That's a huge advantage in a handheld general-purpose light, but not all that important in a dedicated weapon-mounted light. Oh, and IBT "I don't believe in weapon lights" people. And edit because I like my account too much. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I have a couple surefire and a couple streamlights. The streamlights stay on pistols and the surefires stay on rifles.
The operation of the streamlight is much easier with one finger while using it on a handgun where the surefire mechanism is too stiff to use as easily. But on a rifle the surefire is awesome because of the momentary feature where you just push on the mechanism rather than actually flipping it, and by flipping it either way, it's constant. |

+1 for Streamlight. They're excellent lights, and are cheaper than surefire.
My TLR-1 HL is mind-boggling in terms of light-output. |

I've got 4 or 5 X300s and no more TLR's, so....
I like the X300s for the switch if nothing else - the push forward for momentary is more intuitive for me than the "up for on and down for momentary" of the TLR series. Both solid lights, try both controls and see what blows your skirt up... |

FWIW, I had two TLR-1s crap out on me. Both times Streamlight replaced them free of charge, and got it out back to me within a week. I've never had to use Surefire's CS...as the X300 and X300u have both functioned without issues.

I can get on board with this. Bought multiple streamlights for what one surefire would have cost me. I like them and they're working well, but I admittedly do not abuse them like some folks would. Mine get mostly night stand duty and occasional (once a month-ish) low light shooting. They've held up great to that. If you're going to be harder on it, might be worth it to go surefire. I have a holster I need to finish fixing that will let me carry a G19+TLR 1 for EDC. Curious to see how it holds up if I go that route. |

I personally have an insight M3 that I've used on every deployment and training I've been involved in since 2001. Well, tbh I've had it for so long that I can't remember if I may have gotten it in 2002. Either way, I've had it and used it, carried it and beat it up in every environment imaginable. I am still using it today. The only thing I've had to do was change the bulb in 2012. They are inexpensive, durable and work. Again however, any one of those three companies is a good choice and it really comes down to personal preference for your handgun. |

I have multiple TLR1s and an X400 IRc, both are great. Surefires grip switches are vastly superior to Streamlights grip switches but Streamlights toggle switches are better then Surefires toggle switches in my opinion. You can't go wrong with either.

You might want to look at Surefires XC1. I ordered one last week but haven't received it yet, so I can't comment on its quality. I have a TLR1s, and its a good light but kind of big for a CC gun. Its on my AR now.

If you blip and move maybe, but I leave mine on while processing a space and have had zero problems with 1k lumens from a P3X even in tight single wides with white walls. There's also a 2,500 lumen X300 variant currently being field tested with excellent reviews. IMO people worry too much about "having too much light" when in actual low light encounters "I wish I'd had more light" seems to be far more common. |
