NAU is a nice campus, Flag is a relatively quiet town. Dumb shit occasionally happens at NAU (shootings, rape, etc). Mt view is a huge frat party area, and those guy's can be exceptionally stupid.

I can't speak for NAU specifically, but I believe we do not have campus carry in AZ. I know it was proposed a few years back and Brewer veto'd it...I don't recall if it was brought up again. So technically...gun free zone ;)

Look, this had to be a crime of passion and committed on the fly. Most school shootings are calculated and take time to prep while the assailant builds up confidence to actually go in there and commit the act after that last "trigger". This one is at 1:20AM. I.E. Drunk time, and someone was acting a fool, got called out on it, and said, "I'll show you!" That, or over a woman. The media is covering it as if it's another copy-cat massacre attempt when it's just somebody getting pissed off on college campus over a lover's quarrel. That doesn't help push the agenda, though, so label it the "Northern Arizona University Campus Shooting".
On another note, my wife had a bomb threat at her university yesterday. Turned out to be a hoax. NIU Bomb threat |
