dlc should be free, or reduce the cost of the game from $60. not releasing developer kits so people can mod the game is the whole reason why DLC has become profitable. I feel like someone should point out that CounterStrike was a mod. For free. Over 15 years ago. Multiply that by, say 100, and it'll make the difference in a game company's bottom line. It looks really cool, but I just have no interest in multiplayer only games.
I know I am in the past, but I would have loved a modern star wars FPS that revolved around a long solo campaign. Oh well, at least I have Fallout coming soon, which should last me until Zelda Wii U. |

Also, feel free to dip your toe into Team Fortress 2, its still free, and we have alien themed maps at the moment. The only things that cost money are cosmetic items, which do nothing other than look cool. It more or less plays like Quake, art style aside. |

Space battle was cool too, but got a little repetitive. All the "base" ships were laid out the same inside and had the same structures to destroy, all of the playable ships were pretty much identical between factions. Expanded space battle with new-console capabilities could be fucking awesome. |

The only things that cost money are cosmetic items, which do nothing other than look cool. It more or less plays like Quake, art style aside. I hate TF2. Mad cuz bad. The learning curve is fairly steep on some of the classes. And you'll have to deal with people like me who've played since day 1, too. This is balanced out by a fairly large portion of the Valve server population appearing to have just figured out how to use a mouse and keyboard about 5 min after their TF2 install, and the very large portion of new people who think that Sniper or Spy is easy mode TF2. ETA: If you are new, be prepared to spend a very long time in respawn while you figure out what is going on, the game tends to move very fast, and you WILL be punished severely for standing still for a nanosecond to think about it. Don't even bother with the in game tutorials, as they don't really cover much other than very basic movement and gamesense. Watching gameplay vids of experienced players will help, as you can slow down the gameplay on your own time, and see what successful play actually looks like if you know what you are doing. It's a team based game at its core, and one guy can't win it on his own, though if you get good enough you can rofl stomp public servers every now and then. ETA2: Yes, it does play like Quake, as movement and projectile prediction is king if you want to do anything. The non-projectile classes are only powerful for those who can aim properly, and you will only get a one shot kill as a Sniper if you are good enough to land a headshot, which is fairly hard to do vs someone who moves properly. |

I like the Sullust map, has the potential to be interesting, especially with jetpacks. I too would kill for a new TIE Fighter. I LOVED that game back in the day.

Game is reasonably fun.
Kind of liking the small death match map more than the Hoth battle out of the two modes available in the beta. Unless you have rebel's that can pilot you just get face rolled on Hoth. As imperial, I just got in an AT-ST and strung off 30 kills, that can't be fun for the other team. The actual game is running smooth as silk without any issues at all in 2 hours of playing. |

How do I activate a power-up on the PC? I got a vehicle and sat there for a minute trying to figure it out before I got killed sitting there. Searched online for it and still don't know how to activate it if I get another...
ETA: Never mind, I figured it out. The power-up shows up on the lower right screen and you just press the number on it. Gameplay is super smooth but before and after the game the video and audio is really laggy. Not sure what's going on there. |
