or, at least, I think they probably don't; I'm done with this site. For now at least. Just really burned out on just about everything in my life. All hobbies, games, family everything, I just feel burned out and lack interest in a lot of it. This place, as of late, has just been a drain and honestly, kind of depressing. So, to anyone who might actually care in the slightest, I'm taking a break.

Y'all have fun with election season.

If you're taking a break, don't do it half assed. Take a break from all social media, news and other ingrained. Focus on you family and the things that make you happy, Make time for things you have been putting off. Sometimes this can help you realize that you need to chuck major parts of your life and make permanent changes. See you on the far side.

I took an extended break last year until recently. Now I just come for GD since I have internet access at work, and this place is the only online forum that's actually busy anymore.

Main reason was when ammo prices skyrocketed and some ammo (mainly the kinds I shoot) became unobtainable. I haven't been shooting in over a year and don't know if I'll even go this year at all. Now that ammo prices have gone down, I have a kid and my wife quit her job to take care of him, so my income is very limited. What few pennies I can scrounge up, I stick into my RX7 or end up using on something more important.

I like your posts Joe. If you are depressed don't hesitate to reach out. Here or at home. You know as well as I that this place, as full of dipshits and assholes as it seems that there are some genuinely good people here.

I do know how you feel. I have gotten that way on occasion. It is a blah dreary rut that you get in. Makes work, play, hobbies and just life in general boring. I usually combat it by getting out and socializing followed by forcing myself to do a mix of new and old hobbies.

Keep your chin up brother. We will be here when you decide to come back.

What I can say is, take a break.
Depression and exhaustion can affect us all.
Spend time with those who matter to you, and avoid those who don't.

I get tired of trying to help the cheerleading dogmatists see what they are. I bounce around with feeling I'm intentionally ignored because being ignored hurts; I'm ignored because people are afraid to let reason rule and wondering how many readers are told by their handlers to ignore the ones making sense.

Like anything *good* in the world, this place has its ups and downs... Election time last cycle was pretty frustrating, and folks writing, "Might as well vote anti-gun Democrat..." Among other idiotic positions had steam coming out my ears.

This go-around? I found a pretty easy self-fixing solution.

I read the thread titles and only read threads that interest me. Boom. Problem solved.
