From what I understand, the Dems control both houses and their governor is a gun-grabber cunt. So are they going to go the way of New York, California and my own Colorado? What kind of stuff would they try and pass? Mag ban? Full on AWB?

I haven't really paid close attention to politics in their state, so I'm not sure.
Oregonians: Do you have a strong, active state-level 2A organization? |

They should brace themselves. We didn't expect anything as bad as we got.

I'm in to see the replies.
I was shocked that Oregon followed the "gun show loophole" nonsense on private sales. |

OFF is pretty strong, but with the libs having the majority, their not much help. I think we're probably fucked, but this is why I think we MIGHT be OK temporarily. The recall attempts did tighten up some assholes up there. I'm PRAYING that they at least wait until after next November to try anything. If they keep the majority, we're done. If they don't , we have a chance. Just my .02

We have a preemptive law that's difficult to get around but ya, it really sucks politically in Oregon. It has for quite a while. (Early 90s).

After this, you'll be lucky up there, not to have to wear a seatbelt on the toilet.

Is the governor or any politicians calling for gun control ? Or is the fear based more on the thought they might try ?

No sir, Sandy Hook was part of it, but the felon killing first responders in Greece on Christmas Eve was the straw. |

The anti-gunners run the show here now and we are going to get bent over hard on this one. They were quite proud of themselves after raping us with their new universal background check law this year. Maybe they'll mandate 50' x 50' Gun Free Zone signs be posted in front of schools statewide. The shooter in Roseburg surely would have gone straight back home had he seen a big sign like that . . . |
|
Bloomberg and the Antis know that bans on a Federal Level are a no go right now. They're dumping money into states just for reasons like this. Colorado is a prime example of their game plan.

Maybe SW Oregon needs to join its border with the patriots in Northern California? Let the Portland liberals do their own thing, it could be unstoppable, there is so much fear and arrogance by those who listen to the liberal sound bites. .
By the way, I do grow weary of the Californian bashing, I was born there, but moved to the Pacific NW as a kid in grade school. Just about got thrown out of a gun shop in Roseburg last summer because I indicated my state of birth was the one to the south. Dad was in the Navy during WW II, he stayed in San Diego for a while after the war. That origin apparently made me unwelcome in the gun shop. My uncle, now deceased, was a leader in that county, on the school board, volunteer fire department in a rural town south of Roseburg. He flew missions to Tinian, Okinawa, and was flying overhead when the treaty was signed with the Emperor of Japan. I guess because I was born in a Navy town in Southern California I will never live that down. I do agree a lot of unwanted California liberalism has moved north, but people are always individuals, and Oregonians or Washingtonians should take the time to get to know people before they put a negative label on them, they might like some of them. |
