I tried posting this earlier, but it disappeared when I hit submit...  Delete if I dupe myself.

I walked out to my car and saw this in the NE sky from southeast Florida:

At first it was small and I assumed it was a high-flying airplane, but then it kept getting bigger and that is when this video starts.  Shortly after it ends there was a huge shockwave and it slowed considerably.  Anybody else see it?  Anyone know what the hell I just saw???

ETA:  It lasted well over a minute.  It started NE and we lost sight of it when it was due east of my location.

You’re saying that’s a rocket launch?
That looks more like a re-entry moving through the upper atmosphere and apparently breaking the sound barrier if there was a sonic boom.

My interest - you have it.

One of the coolest launches I've seen (I've seen about 30). The coolest being a night-time Space Shuttle launch; lit up the whole Indian River and surrounding land in a bright orange glow.

I remember my family had gotten that on tape shortly after we got a VCR.  Luckily I was probably in 5th grade or so and thought it was cool.

I woke up early to watch the launch.
Unfortunately, there was solid cloud cover here in north Florida. I didn't see a thing.
