A $140 steaming pile of dog shit, forty bucks in ammo and a chicom flashlight?
Fuck Gander Mountain. |

I like the $50 warranty. I routinely pay an additional ~33% on all of my firearms for a 3 year warranty.

While that is insanely priced, when Hi-points were sub $100, they were a good deal for a beater gun to throw on a tractor or atv. They get plenty of hate on here and while they weigh 10 pounds and hold 5 shots they do work most of the time

Guardrail nuts are a lot cheaper. |

Well you have to bundle it. How else are you going to keep all the parts together in that turd.

A couple years the local Gander Mountain had a DPMS ar with a boatload bunch of cheap add-on accessories for $2,800.

I have a collection of gift cards for that store that I get from friends and family from time to time. I have gone in there on three occasions and walked out empty handed because of the ridiculous prices, even though I have gift cards. I can't bring myself to buy anything...it just feels wrong.

A $50 warranty on a gun that has a free, lifetime, no questions asked warranty from the factory.
Sounds good. |

Damn, now you got me thinking. Sould I sell my HK VP9? I could pony up an extra $50 or so and buy 2 Hipoints. Makes more sense.

I'm not going to talk too much shit about Gander Mountain as long as they sell used guns. I picked up a CZ P07 for $250 there recently.

I have been to the one about 10 miles from my place twice... I don't know how they stay in business.
Their prices are a good 25% higher than most every where on their firearms, ammo, etc, etc. I guess they get buyers of some of their guns that have no idea how to shop around. |

Every time I go in there I check the used gun section, all I ever see are beat to shit Glocks priced higher than a new one. |

I sold them a surplus cz82 for $354 when I paid less than $200 shipped for it a couple years ago. Guy behind the counter was eyeballing it like I just brought in a lost treasure, I'm pretty damn sure he entered something wrong on his little offer generating computer app. So there's that I guess.
Got a pristine 1970's Wingmaster there for $100 as well, again probably due to someone entering something wrong on their computer. So what I guess I'm saying is when a dope is working the gun counter deals can be had, maybe? Oh, there's also a box of 125 gr 357 mag ammo there, 50 rounds FMJ, beat to shit, $47.99. And that's probably NOT someone entering something incorrectly, because it's Gander Mountain. FGM! |

I picked up a really nice 1976 Marlin Model 60 for $95 a few weeks ago at GM.
Somebody must have gotten fired for that pricetag. |

I'd rather my lib-tard brother have that in his nightstand instead of his blind faith in humanity when it comes to keeping him, my SIL and niece safe from bad and sick people. He's a big motherfucker, earns his keep and (aside from his rose glasses) is a great husband/father/son/brother.
I've taken him shooting. Our father took us shooting when we were boys. Every time he enjoyed himself and was good at it. He grasped the four rules quickly along with other fundamentals like stance, sight picture, etc. While we have polar political disagreements he's never (to the best of my knowledge) questioned 2A RTKBA. He, however, loves parroting John Stewart like he's some sort of prophet. I know he spent some time in rough neighborhoods during his engineering co-ops but he probably didn't venture out (too busy acquiring highly-compensated IT knowledge). I love him dearly but wonder if he believes his exclusive suburb is some sort of barrier to bad. I'm digressing and rambling and should call my brother. |

I'd been in there maybe a dozen times over 2-3 years and this was the first time I felt like I got a deal. Though by the time the counter drone had wasted an hour of my time with the paperwork, I wasn't feeling so brash. |

. . I'm so glad we don't have one of these ripoff joints around here. I hate places that take advantage of newbies like this.
