Please keep all Fantasy Football discussion to this thread so we don't clog up other threads and we really don't need 100 "rate my team" threads

If you want your team to be rated/analyzed, make sure you state what pick you had, how many teams there were, scoring rules (PPR, 6pts per passing TD, IDP, etc), and how many positions there are.

Use this thread to discuss tips, strategies, waiver pickups, trades, etc.

I personally have 2 drafts this weekend, and I am at last pick for both since I won both last year.  I'm going WR/WR then RB/RB.  Targetting the best 2 WRs (including Megatron, who I think is underrated) and then Gore/Miller for both.

I think you did OK.  Not a fan of Torrey smith at all.  I'd prefer to pick up Starks as a handcuff for Lacy

Yeah not a fan of the Manning, Colston, Torrey Smith picks.

Payton in a run first offence, Colston may not be a starter, and Torrey Smith is playing on a bad team with a bad QB.

Great minds think alike, I have a lot of the same guys on the two teams I've drafted so far.  I play in three money leagues, I have a FF problem.  I have another draft Thursday night.  Bradford looked outstanding in the preseason.  As long as he's healthy, he's going to put up big numbers.  Not an Eli fan, but he has a lot of weapons, especially if Cruz comes back strong.  I think Allen Robinson will do well this year, as Bortles looks much improved.  Julius Thomas is out, so Robinson should get targets, especially more looks around the end zone.  I'm not sure if Olson is gonna put up huge numbers, but he should get a lot of looks.  The Carolina O-line looked like shit in the pre-season, hope Cam has time to find his receivers.  They really need Funchess to step up.  You're stacked at running back, always a good thing.  I have Ingram and Hill on a couple of my teams, I'm very bullish on Ingram getting a lot of redzone looks with Graham gone.  You have the best defense in the league (hopefully Kam ends the holdout), and Calvin should rebound this year.  Good luck this season!

ETA My strategy this year for the first two rounds is to go RB/WR if possible.  I feel that there a number of decent RB2 candidates out there, while finding a quarterback can be done in rounds 6-8.  So loading up on RBs and WRs in the early rounds is how I'm rolling.  Unless I can get Luck in the third or something ridiculous like that.  I'll probably wait to get a tight end in this next draft.  I had been picking Julius Thomas in the eighth or ninth, but he's out until week four, so I think I'm gonna wait and get Rudolph or Heath Miller and then an upside TE in the closing rounds, like ASF or Ebron.

I'd look at picking up a different TE I don't see the 49ers being very good this year.

You bid on the players you want (or that are going undervalued) vs just "pick" in order.  Lots of different ways to handle it... 3-4 round 1/2 draft picks before you're broke or a whole team of round 2 to 4 draft picks.  I went the middle of the road, didn't bid on anyone super expensive (i.e., $40-57 range).

Rudolph or Allen, both have better QB's throwing to them.  Wait til after week one if you want.  They may suprise you.

Not sure what you're asking.  When it's your turn to "pick" you simply nominate a player to bid on and continue until all teams are full.

I was asking if the draft was a complete auction draft.

Can you outbid people that you are picking against?

[#19]

Yes, and yes.

!st pick nominates player, e.g., starts opening bid at $1.  Everyone that wants to can bid on player, price increases.  Going once...twice...sold... Highest bidder "drafts" player (i.e., won the auction).  2nd pick nominates new player, and so on.

Strikes me as a middle of the pack type roster.  If Gurley comes on strong in the middle to late weeks that will help.

IDK why you drafted 3 QB for a 1QB league (and 2 DEF).  You sacrificed depth and potential breakout guys by doing that.

I'd look at trading or picking up a better WR to replace Hopkins.  I just don't see the Texans QB situation being much better than they were last year.

look at his bench WRs.  I think he's gonna be just fine by playing the matchups.

Look who's throwing at those players.  Yes I have 2/3 on my team and they are there for depth.

I would look at picking up a 2nd tier WR instead of hoping Hopkins, Robinson, Wright, and Headcase can get it done week to week.

Thats my opinion on it YMMV.

Eddie Royal (who i'm waivering to pick up Josh Hill b/c my TE's are both out)

Not a bad draft, good value on Morris and Maclin.

Bryant is out for 4 games - Suspension and Thomas may miss 4 weeks - Surgery.  I'd look at picking up Larry Donnell.

PPR league with QBs getting +1 per completion and -1 for an incomplete. 10 teams. $100 buy in. I had the 5th pick and took Luck. QBs will make and break you with this scoring.

Since rules are such, I would have looked at someone more concervitive and not a gun slinger.

Not a bad draft, good value on Morris and Maclin.

Bryant is out for 4 games - Suspension and Thomas may miss 4 weeks - Surgery.  I'd look at picking up Larry Donnell.

yeah, saving bryant for later as i'm sure he'll get some points when he's back (i hope).. fuck the TE class is so weak and Donnell is already picked up.

Have to really go with a gun slinger with a higher completion percent. It's all about the volume. Luck, Bree's, Manning, and Rogers have a big advantage.

Well Luck had a Completion pecentage of 62%  Payton had a completion percentage 66%.  I think you could have gotten better value out of a RB and taking Manning rd 3 or 4.

I'm not saying luck wont do good for you but I don't think the value was there.

Somehow I've lost all contact with the players in my old league so I created a new one on Yahoo. I need 9 players and we draft Sept. 6 @ 2pm.  If you want to join, send me a PM and I'll send you the invite link.

I'm a hands off commissioner unless I absolutely have to get involved. I don't adjust the numbers of players, I play it as it lies.

So there's your invite, come on.

If I would of waited till he 4th round I would of ended up with Romo or Matt Ryan .  Rogers (4th pick), Luck (5th pick), Manning (6th pick), Brees, Wilson, and Big Ben went in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.  The scoring drops off terribly after that.  Scoring system adds a completely different dynamic.

I would think Bradford in Chip Kelly's offense would be a value in that scoring system.  Lots of short completions.  I read somewhere (I think it was Matthew Berry) that the "Eagles QB", combining all the players they had at the position last year, would have ranked fourth in fantasy scoring.

Matt Ryan had more yards and completions though he also had less TD's and interceptions.

I wouldn't mind having Wilson, he may not get you a bunch of yards and TD's but he's a better all around QB IMO.

Why would you not just take the players you will end up trading two of them for in the draft?

You better get to the negotiating quick or you will be hurting right out of the box
