There was an AR with picatinny rails too, which I don't think existed in the 80s.

Early carbine stocks are open on the back...that would allow a rifle tube to come out the back at full closed.

Its pretty cornball and hokey.  Fluff stuff.  There are LOTS of out of time errors in cars, technology, etc.

But, its pretty entertaining.  I like it.
