..has secured me some books on cigars, so the journey has begun. I only started buying sticks last weekend, but here is what I've grabbed (hoarded) so far:  I can already see how this can easily become more compulsive than hoarding ammo, and, yes, I see humidors are apparently like safes - buy the biggest you can afford and fit in your house.  |

I'm not a cigar smoker but my dad is a heavy smoker
Check out jrcigars online he buys Romeo Julieta,Monte Cristos , Partagas and try's random stuff all the time from there in bulk He brings back Cubans to smoke from overseas religiously Should save a lot of $$$$ doing it that way Funny thing is he isn't a Cohiba fan |

First thing, take those flavored cigars out of the same box as the non-flavored ones. They will all start to taste like the flavored ones before long. Second, nice sticks. The more you smoke the more you will learn what you like and what you don't like. Try as many as you can. Enjoy!

There are a LOT of great sticks out there. I too once did the humidor thing, especially when I worked as a tobacconist. Now, I just use a big cooler with a couple "socks" filled with 65% beads. No worries, no muss, no fuss. Make sure to keep the flavored Tatiana away from the non flavored sticks. Enjoy!!! ETA cigar monster, cbid, and cigars int'l are great. Start ordering 5'ers to try them out. |

The best part of getting into cigars is exploring to find what you like. The Romeo y Julieta or Montecristo are great places to start.
Those are two great fall back brands when you go to a shop but aren't sure what you want to pick up. And my advice, don't read big cigar reviews. The only thing that matters is what you like and shop clerks can usually give a pretty good recommendation if you're lost. It's sort of like whiskey reviews. Once you read an article you tend to start looking for specific flavors whether you would actually notice them or not. |

Still think the Padron thousands series personally i like the 3000 and 5000 are some of the best, just all around good smokes and a good price. Honestly they are under priced..
Can't go wrong with a Padron. |

My advice is either put a used cooler into service or look for a wine chiller in the long term if tempature is a problem. You want to maintain as close to 70 degrees and 65-70% relititive humidity as possible.
As for sticks, I see a few decent ones in your stash but I encourage you to try as many brands and blends as possible. I assume you're liking mild to medium blends so that RP Conneticut, Monticristo and Romeo are the best I can see there. Although a little more on the full side Tatujane, Man of War, Padron and Perdermo are what I'd recommend now. In cigars you really want to stick with a blend more than a label. For instance, anything by the Padron family or Nick Perdermo will never disappoint, same is true about AJ Fernandez, CAO and the Oliva family. I'm kind of out of the game lately, but from my journey I recall the Padrons as being without many equals. I was always a Fuente whore, even their cheaper sticks were solid. Carlos Torano had some of the most beautiful wrappers I've ever seen on a cigar, wonderful smokes though not as widespread.
I will not speak of ISOM stocks as that is an entire other subject that has to be travelled separately. |

Another vote for the Short Story. 
Acids are shit. Drew Estate Javas are pretty good for flavoreds though. Cohiba isn't worth the money imo. Brick House makes a great $5 stick Skip Gurkhas. They have consistency issues. La Gloria Cubana is a decent $2 stick Island Jims are good, but I think they're native to Pittsburgh only. Leaf by Oscar is tasty, but again it may be a pgh thing Skip cubans for now. They're not worth the price. And they're illegal. Banditos are really good cherubs. DO NOT MIX FLAVORED AND REGULAR CIGARS IN ONE HUMIDOR! |

liga undercrown don pepin blue perdomo 10th ann champange pretty much anything fuente i buy hemmingways by the box rocky patel the edge habano wrapper try to move away from the non cuban versions of the famous cuban brands like cohiba/etc (unless you like them)...if you are going to smoke those get the cuban version. We all do that in the beginning because thats the brands we heard of but there are much better cigars out there. roll through the what did you just buy thread in the humidior area is a good way to get ideas on what to try. |
