Stayed a few nights at the historic The Hotel Roanoke before. That was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Felt like I nestled into a cloud of titties. Knocked me out cold as soon as my head hit the pillow each night.

All quiet here so far. I did get an Email wanting me to sign a petition on change.org that some Northern VA delegate started. I wish there was a way to anti-sign it. Basically, it was a push for "common sense" gun control and universal background checks. Neither of those would have made any difference yesterday. This guy passed a background check, he was just an evil person. Can't legislate against evil.

I've got a lot of family out there and have been going there regularly since childhood. It's a great town. At one point I was looking for work out there to move closer to some of my extended family (cousins my age that I grew up with) but I couldn't find an appropriate gig.
Anyways, they'll survive...and shoot looters as needed.

I was born in Troutville, my wife is from Roanoke - we live on the coast now.
Roanoke wouldn't burn if it was reversed. Roanoke is a dump (affetctionately) and the thug element there while strong in the inner city, is low-level loser small time, and the surrounding counties are heavily white / non liberal / rural. I lived there for 30 years. Its definitely not "awesome". |
