Just saw this kit http://www.slickguns.com/product/complete-ar15-rifle-anderson-lower-337 Everything but a rear sight for $337.42? Wow. I know PTAC is not the best but still, it'll shoot.
Damn!!
Even with shipping and ffl fees it should still be easily under $400. That's a pretty staggering price even if not top flight. |
Cant be worse than whatever Blackthorne/Vulcan/Hesse is calling themselves these days (other than "the guns of special forces" of course).
For that price who gives a shit if they are not the best or bottom rung AR's
Cheap price for cheap parts. But I try to buy a little better quality than Ptac.
I bought a Bushmaster Carbon-15 with a red dot on it for $435 or so and got a $50 rebate back for a net price of $385. The only thing that is unusual is there is no flash hider on the barrel.
Are slick sides in style now? I'm seeing them more and more often.

Understand that I am new to AR's and have contemplated all sorts from full price Colts to low cost Del-Tons and S& W Sport. What I finally did was purchase a complete Spikes lower and just yesterday a back in stock PSA mid length with a melonite barrel for an absolute total cost of $594.49 out the door.. That's not sub $400 and I'm by no means trying to gloat but sometimes there is a reason it's $400 vs $600. Still though for under $400 it is still an absolutely smoking deal. Some people just don't make enough to go above that at this moment. |

I don't know if anything will beat those $250 DPMS rifles in the Walmart closeout thread...

Shit guy if I could find a complete DPMS at $250 like the other poster noted I would buy two just for fucks sake. |

This is a great price, and will only push prices down on other models. This is always a good thing.
Parts might not be the best, but if it brings in new shooters i'm all for it. |

I already own a few quality AR's. So I picked up a $299 slickside kit and will add a $35 Anderson lower to finish it. Trunk junk.

I've acquired such a collection of spares and cast offs over the years that I could probably assemble 3 or 4 ARs anytime I want to, for "free." They'd probably be complete with decent optics and accessories like that brand spanking new Pentagonlight Light/ laser combo I bought years ago that's still in the box. OH! and Grip-pods! Everyone would have some sort of rail system and muzzle device that used to be cool.

Saw this on an e-mail and thought to myself "What the actual fuck?!? Bring on the SALAD DAYS!!!!!!!!"

Slick sides are no bueno for a lefty.

There are some great AR deals out there. It is purely due to the mass production of parts pushing the price down.
There is way less actual work in something like semi-auto 22, but they are selling for only $100-150 less than a budget AR, that has far more complex parts in it. The AR is still an $800 rifle, but now available for way less due to mass production... stock up!! |
