It doesn't look that fast as the terrain passes by, but my math is about the same as yours, 124.274 MPH. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The driver is doing about 155 kph or just a little under 100mph.

Jayd Hilm. One of the coolest sights I saw in my area was a C-130 flying out of the valley. I wish the Air Force would tell us when they do that. It's lawn chair, pop a beer and wait for the fly by.

The crazy assed Russians do come through from time to time. Gotta admire them when they do.

Looks about right... Little high crossing the overpass and wires though.

Why don't we ever see anything cool like that in the US? That was awesome.

I am sure Russia has a few. Earlier I said avoiding RADAR but with ROTHR he would be on RADAR but he would show up as a car. |

I've seen a Pavelow doing the same thing about 200ft above I-25 during a snowstorm in Denver once.

Some guy in a Kit Fox flying about that high along the eastbound lanes. I thought he was going to crash and a lot of other drivers on the CB were saying the same thing. He flew along rather unsteadily for about 10 miles and then headed away from the highway. General consensus was either some non-pilot just finished building the plane and was up for his first ever flight, or it was a drunk pilot. |

Stood there a few seconds then two F-16s popped out of the valley, whooshed RIGHT over my head, and popped back down. Holy crap it was awesome. |

Driver gets to about 214 KPH to catch up to it near the end, that's 133 MPH...

I reckon if I was in a Russian maintained helicopter I would probably stay pretty close to a landing spot as well.

View Quote Because the second you do something cool for people, they're whipping out their iPhones and posting video online... Shortly after that you're losing your job. Also, I don't want to be 'that guy', but that video really looks like CGI to me. Something is just off about it. |

Don't kid yourself. The first helicopter mission I went on in the fleet was a lot like that. We had the briefing, reviewed the way points, which I dully noted. When we got out to the helicopter the pilot chucked his survival vest under the back seat in the UH1-1E, jumpers into his seat, and pulled a Texaco road map out of his ankle pocket in this flight suit. We followed the highways the whole way. At the junctions he would lower the helicopter to read the road signs. This was back in the early 70's.

In Soviet Russia cars chase helicopters....
