Quoted: One bike only, it would have to be a supermoto. I've had one for about 5 years now and I'm still not tired of riding it every chance I get. I've rode it into places that the guys on pure dirtbikes give you that " how did you get here " look. Passed guys on sportbikes doing their best Rossi imitation in the middle of a corner while I'm sitting bolt upright. Thrown it down off road many times with just a new scrape to show for that one. Three to four hundred mile days are about my limit even with my seatconcepts seat. To be honest I don't think any bike would make me want to sit on it any longer than I do my sumo. I'm only 48 now, maybe in a few years I'll trade down for an adventure bike but not yet. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u197/Pinepig/IMG_20150712_132256_zps7g0wmmbj.jpg View Quote Please, don't ever do that. While not as bad as a GS (which I can't even really get on), the XR puts me on my very tiptoes on flat ground. On an uneven surface to my disadvantage (meaning lower where I need to put a foot down, usually the left side), I doubt I could keep it upright at a stop. And if I'm going to have an XR lowered, why not just buy the S1000R to begin with? I'm more interested in the RS, which seems to have a perfect seating position for me. Haven't had a chance to actually ride one, though - dealer I was at didn't have any demos of the RS. |

Probably one of the "hybrids." It goes well enough on the road, but with semi-knobby tires it could handle city streets and a bit of off-road work as well.
On the other hand, a road bike is necessary for those 50 to 100 mile road rides. |

View Quote They've had several on the floor here - but all sold, generally long before they even hit the floor. When I ended up ordering mine, they had three Scramblers on the floor. The two Icon models were already sold. The third was a Classic, which was still available for sale at the time. As I didn't really want to pay an extra $1500 for things I didn't really want anyway, I had them order me an Icon. That Classic was then sold within a week. I love being able to ride fast without drawing attention to myself (note the factory pipes on the KTM). Improvements that I'd like to see: More range (it's right at 100 miles with optional power pack that I purchased with bike), faster charging, better cooling and of course a lower price. |
