Wicked bike, easy to tweak to 120 HP.
V4 liquid cooled 2 Cycle.
You should hear one with expansion chambers with 'stingers', (won't hear right for awhile!)

BMW F800GSA.

I bought mine new, 2015, in desert tan.

It tours, does some decent off roading, great range, acceptable handling for mountain roads. All around excellent bike, not sure I would have preferred the 1200 at this point.

after boxes and body protection, they all come in about 40" wide. Well, all in the adventure / tour class.

I got both!  Two Ducatis in my garage.

I have my Multistrada for daily trips, errands and longer rides.

I have my Paul Smart, well, because it is beautiful, nostalgic, limited in number and a prize possession.

I just spent a couple of hours working on my PS.  Cleaned up the tail by removing the big fender and lights and replaced it with an LED taillight.  Also got a new clutch pack that is awesome!

Neither of these are my actual pictures but they are pretty close to what my bikes look like.

I love riding.  Damn rain is keeping me indoors these past few days!!!

If you have a diverse need, a multi-purpose bike will probably suite you well.

One of the big KTMs.
I currently have a KLR650 and a FJR1300. I love them both but they are completely different animals. A big KTM (990, 1098, whatever) would have the go anywhere of the KLR with the power of the FJR..

or maybe I would hate. I dunno....

The one I already have: Kawasaki Concours C14. It's equally at home droning along the interstates two-up, having fun in the twisties, or anything in-between. Engine is a beast that can do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds but delivers power smoothly across the rev range and doesn't take off without provocation. I can't think of much it can't do, and do well, except for off-road.

The bags each take a full face helmet with room to spare, how flexible are the toddlers?

Hoping to do the 4 Corners ride when the GF and I retire many years from now. I don't remember the Alps tours that you mentioned, but man, wouldn't that be something? Ahhhhh dreams.

And a set of sumo wheels are on the list too.

I already got the 690. Love that bike so much. Sumo wheels will follow when money allows.

If I could have 2 bikes... 1190 or 1290 adventure. Probably the 1190 adventure r.
