Isn't hunting, pretty much about man v nature? They are not designed to be easy... which is why remotely deployed, electronic devices are used to make your life easier... yes? I get that man has the advantage. I get that this is a nuisance animal. I don't get the part where one uses electronic means to lure the animal to a kill-zone or within range of a rifle. For the record.. I can't figure out why feeding deer all year, and then killing them in the same spot is cool, also. I just don't have *that* in me, less than a survival situation. The rifle/weapon you use isn't as important as the technique and calling method. I highly suggest Foxpro. I've used mine to call in and kill a ton of coyotes and bobcats. It's probably my favorite thing in the world to do. Also, once you put one down, don't stand up or start making noises. Keep working the call. You'd be surprised how many times more will come in, especially if you're using a suppressor or crossbow/bow. Double and triples are so awesome. Let's be honest, you are not hunting. You are just killing. Yeah, it's easy to just spot and stalk yotes. And they just need killing. Isn't hunting, pretty much about man v nature? What are these "seasons" you speak of? Yotes can be taken at any time of the day or night, on any day of the year here. View Quote Well, around here when the temps get up to 115 in the summer, you don't see many (if any). They head up into the mountains to stay cooler, follow their food, and find water, and that time also coincides with the annual no shooting on forest land due to fire restrictions. Yeah, you can shoot them year round, IF you can find them. |

You have to hunt with a .17 HMR to appreciate how significant that kill is. I killed a coyote male a month ago that was (believe it or not) fighting my dogs through the back yard fence. I shot it with a .17 HMR, about 60 yards away. It was pure luck, I hit it in the spine and was able to get closer to kill it. My .243 was in the safe or I'd have used it. The .17 HMR is pretty much a magnum pellet rifle. So I say damn good shoot! |

View Quote When you start regurgitating PETA approved statements like "that's not hunting, that's killing," or "that technique is too easy", most people will infer accusations of "cowardly" or "unethical." Coyotes are cowards. I've seen them eat the ass out of a cow and leave it to die slowly in the field so they can come back the next day and eat some more. I've seen what they do to livestock and family pets. They are a scourge, and are one of the few creatures that deserve to be extinct. |

I know that the coyotes are nuisance animals. I gave my dad a spare 6920, because they are getting bolder in the NW of Ohio - and beginning to eye the horse farm.
