Sarah Palin has been a private citizen for more than six years now. The failed Republican vice presidential candidate who resigned as governor of Alaska to become a reality TV show host and tea party fellow traveler has been slowly pushed to the periphery of national politics. Occasionally, news organizations have wondered whether they should even cover her — even though she still can get headlines by saying, for example, that Lena Dunham is a pedophile or by comparing Planned Parenthood's logo to the Confederate flag.

But Palin plus Donald Trump? That's a story everyone can get excited about — even when the Donald just offers generic praise of the self-proclaimed maverick on an obscure radio show and Palin isn't even there.

I don't want to see her as VP but Sec of Press, Sec of interior, Sec of AG, or sec of energy I think she could kick ass in those slots

& Mike Rowe as sec of labor
the only reason for a VP now is to gain swing states so rubio or Jeb both of whom poll well in fla & Ohio would be a better choice.

Trump WILL need a serious VP to survive (and to give him some political clout).

Sarah Palin is unqualified to for any of these slots.

While Mike Rowe is a compelling celebrity and says alot of right things, being Secretary of Labor is more about managing a bureaucracy rather than going out to the public and creating shovel ready jobs. Mike Rowe would be figuratively chained to a desk.

No, not really. Polling results showed that she did not add much of anything to McCain's run. She had potential, especially among women voters. But following the Katie Couric interview and other poorly handled appearances, she lost a lot of credibility and the polling numbers dropped. The only people who continued to see Palin favorably were part of the Republican base, which didn't--and couldn't--help McCain defeat Obama.
