Same with those mindless teenyboppers who go to the Hickory
Farms store, and then take double samples of fruitcake and cheeselog,
you warn them that they will be charged with a felony(grand theft), and
that if they attempt to fight and run, they will be, unfortunately,
first tazered, and if they continue to resist violently with intent to
maim, then wounded.

Body armor is the least of your worries if you're taking 338 lapua hits.

As mentioned by another poster, that Gecko45 guy -
somebody better find that mall ninja and tell him his plan to tape plates to his body to stop multiple 338 rounds isn't going to work

He was a super nice guy and offered to shoot more plates for me in the future with this gun.  Therefore my current position is "something was wrong with the scope"

Come on OP, find some one close by with a 300 Rum so I can send you some of these barnes solids to load and shoot....I bet they zing right thru either one at 100 yards...

This guy had ordered some solid copper bullets back when we shot this, so he was really anxious to try it again with them.   I would need new plates though lol

vs AR500 Level III+ and Level IV armor @ 100 yards, will they go through?  That ammo is listed as 2952 fps.

Close, but I'm giving the edge to the lvl 4. Isn't lvl 4 rated for 50bmg

I'm part recoil junkie so there is that. But all in all not bad. The rifle is heavier than any 06 and that takes a lot of the recoil away.

This place sells them.

ETA: Pure copper isn't in the list of banned materials. Brass, bronze, and beryllium copper are though so the ATF tries to fuck with people and claim the bullets have traces of zinc or tin so the are really brass or bronze despite the law clearly saying (excluding the presence of traces of other substances).

My 257 roberts AI can do 3600 fps with a 70 gr Barnes solid, which works out to about 3300 fps at 100 yards, 50 fps faster than m193 from the muzzle of a 20" barrel which we know will go though AR500 steel plates like butter at very close ranges. Would still be worthless against real ceramic armor as opposed to repurposed skid steer steel covered in truck bed liner though.

I'm around 4200 lbs of energy at the muzzle at 2760fps. You can use that as a basis

My 300 rum shooting the 230 berger target comes in at aprox 4700  lbs of energy at the muzzle at 3050...with 26" tube... I need to run the numbers on the 125 grain barnes solids I loaded for it years ago....OK, going by JBM off a tsx 130 grain(no data available for the 125 solids anymore), should be right at 4700 lbs.at the muzzle at 4050 fps...be interesting to see what some of these big calibers would do...sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end....plates or not....

I'm shooting at 300 gr accubond. 96 gr of rl33. I should be around 1900fps at 900 yards

At what distance does it have the energy of a 30.06 point blank?  600m ish.

06 at the muzzle is about 2800ft lbs of energy- soooo yeah 500 m a level 4 would stop it. But you will have a bad day structurally.

Let me give a correction first. I'm at 96.5 gr of rl33 and I should be above 4600 lbs of energy at the muzzle . 1700 fps at 1000 yards with 2040 lbs of energy.

I've tried retumbo. I like it but the rl33 is cheaper and a little faster . I'm running .010 off the lands So the pressure spike gives a much more even powder burn which the rl33 likes .
