For the first time this year, Donald Trump tops a state poll of GOP presidential candidates in Florida.

A St. Pete Polls survey released on Wednesday shows the New York businessman with 26 percent support, with Jeb Bush in second place with 20 percent.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is in third
place with 12 percent, and Marco Rubio is in fourth place with 10
percent. He’s followed by Dr. Ben Carson at 5 percent, Ted Cruz and John
Kasich at 4 percent, and Rand Paul at 3 percent. Sixteen percent are
unsure or are supporting another candidate not named in the survey.

People are sick and tired of the illegal alien invasion and want it to end.

Politicians who pander or waffle on that  issue aren't going over very well with voters.

Ergo.......

The White House 2 years after the next election.

Probably because he was a popular governor here in the state of Florida...and it's a Florida poll.

That's the point:  Trump is beating Bush on his home turf.

Great point and fair enough.

But even in all the national polls I see, he is #1 or #2.

Im not a tin foil guy, so naturally, I must be missing something?? Hes a RINO with a toxic name, or Im really out of touch with the Republican base, I suppose?

I'm not here to bash Trump, Hell, I think he's been great so far but I fear he'll step on his dick in the debate and hurt himself badly.

He's going to need to give some well reasoned solutions to issues, not just lob grenades in the general direction of his fellow candidates and while to this point he's been playing his game, at the debate he'll be playing the politicians' game and there are several who will be laying for him.

We shall see I guess but I hope he sticks around for a while and doesn't go off the reservation. He definitely serves a good purpose and if he chooses to really apply himself, he could be a hard cat to clean after.

Ted Cruz needs to step up his game. He doesn't have Trump's billions or name recognition with the proles. He needs to do something audacious again to get the mainstream media slinging shit his way. Any publicity is good publicity, and he's going to need a lot to get heard over reality TV attention-whore Trump.

So long as he doesn't finance the project with junk bonds  it's going to be golden;  and the luxury hotel, casino,  and condominium floors are going to be real money makers for the taxpayers.

The indoor parking garage will be built on the site where the Capitol Building currently stands which will be aquired by eminent domain.

Only politicians hurt themselves by "stepping on their dick". Trump's not a politician.  He will survive, recover quickly and be a stronger candidate and clearer choice because America is looking for a "strong man" at this moment.

I disagree.   The GOP establishment has "trick-fucked" GOP voters in two recent landslide elections with their "solutions" and stated opposition to the Liberal agenda. "Lobbing grenades" is EXACTLY what he needs to be doing right now to expose the elements of the GOP establishment and their collaboration with the libs.

Trump’s presence in first GOP debate makes prep challenging for candidates.

Onetime candidate Newt Gingrich says the first
goal of next week’s GOP debate is to try not to self-destruct. And
dealing with Trump will be difficult, he warned. "It’s like dealing with
nitroglycerin.”

The problem may arise when Trump has to give detailed answers to things he doesn't have intimate knowledge of or experience with.

And they all will be looking ro hang him out to dry right there in front of God and everybody.

Why?  These debates are created and have exactly enough time to answer with sound bites.   These debates are not reasoned, well thought out arguments, because the American people do not have the time or attention span to sit and listen to 25 hours of economic policy and none of the candidates are bright enough to actually understand the words in their debate books.

If Trump does not go all scorched earth, I will be severely disappointed.   Bonus points if he grabs bush by the throat and gives him a couple of good bitch slaps (to thunderous applause).

Who says Trump is being used?  Right now, it seems as if Trump is using the GOP's failings and weaknesses as a way to keep his name in circulation.

If he doesn't have any intention of winning, he's the perfect flack-taker to keep Cruz from getting beaten to a pulp this far from the election.

If he does have the intention of actually running & winning, well, he's polling really damn well.  I'd rather have trump than any Dem.  But I won't vote for another shrub.
