If I'm going to need or want a carbine why would I want one with the exact ballistics as a handgun? To short a barrel to make any difference. Don't want.

Might as well get the 1911 version. Because then you could change the slide out for one with the 16" barrel that Sarco is selling and have a real carbine.

Take two firearms with the same caliber and bbl length, one with a usable stock (I'm not saying the thing linked above is usable, FTR) and one without, and objectively shoot them both to see which one you can shoot better at distance, which is quicker back on target or transitioning between targets, etc. Even with a short bbl, give me the one with a stock any day... for anything except CC, of course. Still no substitute for a "real" rifle, but better IMO than a pistol alone. YMMV. |

Glock may be right in not releasing a carbine at this point since they're even later on a carbine than they were on a single stack 9x19mm. At this point, what difference does it make? I can get a modular 9x19mm carbine with commodity parts and support the LGS B&M crew in doing so.
