IMO most American jews will continue to vote liberal, and even vote for liberal jewish politicians that supported the Iran deal. Being liberal and democrat is far more important to them than Israel, which they really don't care much about at all when it comes right down to it.

Probably not much different than they ever have, given that they're not Israeli citizens.
My ancestry is German, Polish and Russian, and to be honest - I don't give a flying fuck about those countries. If those countries do shit I disagree with (and they do from time to time), I don't really care. I'm not personally offended by it. I don't live there. If a Republican administration treats them poorly (and they have from time to time), I don't really care. I'm not personally offended by it. I don't live there.

The modern American that proclaims to be Jewish is not actually Jewish. Not much different from an American Catholic. I am Catholic, and am embarrassed for my religion when I here them consistently interject "Social Justice" issues, and side with Democrats and vote the same, when the greatest sin against Catholicism is supported by Dems.
Today's modern American "Jew" does not practice their faith, as much as they hold on to for a crutch. They use it to self identify with a "special class" of citizen. It makes them feel privileged. They don't give a fuck for Israel. I am by no means a good Catholic. But I try. |

I have some Jewish people in my family by marriage.
While they will not state that they are Democrats, they have never voted for a member of any other party. Until the last election, when they began to calculate their effective tax rate based on Democrat policies. Some of them broke free from the Democrat chains of oppression. I think that is the key with them. They are socially liberal, until it gets too deep into their pockets. Of course, I am an overtly racist bigot for claiming such a stereotype. But then again, I am also an overtly racist bigot because I don't choose paper clips based on their makers social justice policies or some such factor, so I don't really care. |

Lots of misinformation in this thread.
I am Jewish and went from Reform to Chabad. I've been around liberal Jews since birth. I still have Reform friends. Many Jews, both liberal and conservative are not pleased right now. The non-Reform Jews, as in not nearly so liberal, support Israel. Even the vast majority of liberal Jews support Israel in that they may not like some policies, but they still support the state and what it represents. What I am seeing in the Orthodox community is outright hatred of Obama, Kerry, etc. Those saying Jews will vote D regardless are wrong. I vote conservative as I know many other Jews that do as well. The problem is the liberal press loves to play up Jewish support for Dems. The media wants the populace to think this. It is the same thing as the media "discussing" all the instances of a black man being killed by the police. In reality, the number is much lower. Plenty of conservative Jews in the diaspora. It is simply fits the media's agenda to leave this out. |

As a freshman in college, I dated a Jewish American Princess. She was also one of my first experiences with political correctness and rabid leftism, which I really didn't understand as I'd never seen it before. Besides, I wasn't involved with her because of politics.
Anyway, I remember being really, really confused when, in the wake of a PLO bombing in Israel, which resulted in quite a few dead Israelis, this Jewish American Princess said, "It's about time the Arabs stood up to the West." I couldn't quite process this, so I asked her, "But they're not really standing up to the West, are they? Isn't Israel also in the Middle East and populated by people who claim Middle Eastern heritage?" "Doesn't matter," said she. "Israel is an American puppet and deserves what it gets." I have no doubt that she'll punch all the D boxes a year from November. |

I hate the media as much as anyone, but unless those numbers are a lie then the evidence supports overwhelming Jewish support of Democrats. |

But an anecdote about people being upset doesn't really impress me much compared to polling that indicates plenty of self identified American Jews are pleased with the Iran deal. I do not expect to see a big drop off of liberal Jewish votes next election because of this or anything else the democrats have done. Those who have been voting left will continue to vote left. |

Jews are overwhelmingly arch liberals and represent the most influential ethnic group in left wing politics. They are also (and this is beyond dispute), the biggest pushers for gun control both in media and government. This fact makes no sense to me at all. None. Are younger Jews even familiar with the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising? Is that even taught in their schools?
