Lemay and the statistics were an interesting bit. Say what you want about McNamara, but that guy sure packed a lot of stuff into his career. Great movie, especially the stuff on Cuba.

I watched it when it first came out and was very sympathetic to McNamara afterwards, thinking he got a bad rap. After doing further reading on the subject.....he's still a piece of shit.

Kennedy and Johnson relied on his strategy and boy was it flawed. He even admits to it. Shame is he just as well put a gun to the head of 60,000 American soldiers and pulled the trigger. Then he cut and ran. |
