I grew up in Chandler, Arizona...about 2,000 miles from my present location. I was born here and spent most of my time in Ohio, but my childhood was in AZ.

My parents live close enough that I see them almost every week. I steam-cleaned their carpets while on vacation a few weeks ago, and went out for BBQ and a trip to the Lane Auto Museum for their "Sixty Years of French Cars" exhibit with my Pop.

My little brother left Nashville to attend college in 1990 and has never returned. After graduation he moved to the CA Bay Area, where he still lives today. Every five or six years he'll come to TN to visit, but I haven't seen him since 2009, when we all went to Normandy. We call each other on Christmas and Thanksgiving, but we are such different people that neither of us feel very connected.  Odd, considering we shared a bedroom until we were teenagers.

My wife and I live 1,600+ miles from where we grew up.  In the next few years we are going to try to move back a little closer to home.

About a day and a half (2,500mi) if you feed your nose, and piss in a bottle.

Wow. Ever drive to the old house at the end of the day out of habit? My mother lived in the same place since I was 16....about thirty years. She finally bought a house across the street from my high school, but whenever I go home to visit I instinctively start driving to her old apartment.

At least once during the first week after I moved.  I had been away for quite some time, but was staying at my dad's again (bigger house on the left, and the one I grew up at) at the moment when the chance to buy my grandparent's house presented itself.  I like the area and got a good deal, so I jumped at it.

Being a military brat, I grew up a little bit of everywhere. I'm now about 1,300 miles from where my folks retired to and where I graduated high school.

We're renting the house in which my wife was raised. When her parents divorced, he got it. We moved here last year and rent it from him until we buy our own place.
