425 miles by road up to McKinney where my wife and I are from.  We'd love to be back there (that's our goal) but, unfortunately, I would have to take a significant paycut due to my field.  Looks like we are going to have to settle for the Houston area, but at least it's closer than where we are now.

About a thousand miles, but not far enough. It took a couple of years of work to eliminate my accent from the area. Jethro Bodine would sound like an intellectual when compared against the local accent.

For 3 years, I was living in Brisbane, Australia so that was 8,900 miles away.

2 hours from where I was born, couple of hundred yards from where I lived from second grade until I moved out as an adult. I love it here, don't see ever moving of my own will.

a couple thousand miles from Texas.

my folks moved away from home after my brother and sister and I moved out. All but one of my friends moved away, and I was in the army. For a decade, I I felt like a Ronin. A wandering swordsman with no master or home.
It was sort of depressing at first, but then became really freeing.

Only 12.6 miles. Columbus Ohio. Grew up in central/south end of Columbus now I'm on far west side.

Beginning of 6th grade we went S/W to Mount Sterling. 23.2 miles

End of 9th grade moved back up to west side of Columbus. 7.9 miles.

End of high school moved SW to outside Grove City. 14 miles.

6 months later struck out on my own. About 5 years. Far west side. 12.8 miles.

About 6 years a little NW to Hilliard. 11.8 miles.

12 years NW to outside Marysville. 42.5 miles. My favorite and I miss it everyday!!

2 years far west side of Columbus. 12.6 Miles.

Without the use of the interwebz, Southern CA (Newport Beach) to Upstate SC and my guess is 2500 miles and some change.  Entire familial Clan including chillrens in CA except one who is going to school in Taiwan (son).

No Basements in CA, so fuck! I had to leave my den of Cheetos and Mountain dew fort at a early age.

First time I came to LA I noticed no basements or attics. I asked my future wife, "But where do you put all your stuff?"

She just said, "We don't have stuff".

*I will note though, that while in the military I lived 4.5 years in Germany, 1 in Korea, and 1.5 in Iraq.  I just happened to settle down next door.

Wow. Ever drive to the old house at the end of the day out of habit? My mother lived in the same place since I was 16....about thirty years. She finally bought a house across the street from my high school, but whenever I go home to visit I instinctively start driving to her old apartment.

It's 596 miles on the dot from where I was born to where I sit now.

I grew up all over the place though. I've moved around a bit since first settling here but tallied up it's where I've been longest.

Right now about 270 miles. In the past, about 1,100.

I'm glad I'm closer right now, my mom is getting on in years and I go to Jax with regularity. Although I wouldn't be averse to moving elsewhere.
