I grew up on Army bases, about three hundred miles from Ft. Rucker, 90 from Hunter Army Airfield, 250 from Ft. Bragg, 600 from Ft. Campbell, around 5000 miles from Wiesbaden and closer to 8000 to Taegu, Korea.
On the other hand I was born in a hospital about 15 miles from where I sit, but I never lived in my "hometown" until I was thirty years old. |
I live about 40 miles from where I was born but roughly 1200 miles from where I grew up.

170 miles NNW but I've lived I've lived in three other states besides SD throughout my life all in the midwest. I guess I like corn fields, pheasants and white tailed deer too much to leave.

About 1300 miles from where I was born in southern California. My parents moved us to Spokane when I was about 10 then they went back to California when I was 18. I now live 16 miles from the house we moved to when I was 10. Most of my family has since moved to Arizona. Family get togethers are a bitch. I've made it to one in the last 15 years.

About 1400 miles. My parents and siblings are still living there. Can't wait to move closer to them.

5800 miles to where I was born and lived until 10 yo.
1000 miles to where I lived from 10 to 35. |
Less than a mile. In fact if I look out my back window and can see the back of the house I grew up in.
Used to live 10 hours away.
Then 3 hours away. Now I'm 4 blocks away, bought my childhood home and remodeling it. In December I will live in the same house I grew up in. |

Quoted: So, how far away are you from where you grew up? View Quote Edited to add: 2,028 miles, door to door. Miss my best friend who still lives in SoCal and I miss seeing my mom more than a few times per year, but I don't miss the rest of my family since they are all like a bad soap opera. |
I live next door to where I grew up. My sister still lives in that house. I've never lived more than 5 miles from the house my parents lived in when I was born.
My kids were all born in the same hospital I was and they all had the same pediatrician as I did when I was a kid. |
About 150 miles. Far enough that I can enjoy some isolation and privacy but close enough that I could drive 2-3 hours home to visit.
About 2400 miles.
Grew up in Bangor Maine, now live in Wyoming. I still have family in Maine, some moved to Michigan and my in-laws are in Montana, being so scattered it makes it difficult to visit family as much as I would like. |
I grew up in Georgia. I live in Alaska. Not sure but that's probably 5000 miles give or take.
Close to 8500. Grew up outside Sydney, Australia...currently reside in Texas.
575 miles. I've lived farther away from there than that before (including other states and the other side of the world), but that's how far I am now.
No one in my family lives where I grew up anymore. |
1.5 blocks. Same street. It's a tough commute. My dad still lives there.
About 30 miles currently, but have lived all over the southeast US and worked all over the contiguous US. I spend 5 days or more a week away from home so I guess I live in hotels.
