It will be interesting to see how LC plays this part, compared to Sir Richard Harris in "Man in the Wilderness", though the latter is apparently more "loosely based".

Yep.

I have been REALLY impressed with Dicaprio's movies lately. Dude is a hell of an actor, one of the best of all time.

How will the Hollywood PC Police handle showing Native savagery in the film? Most likely, it will be made the white man's fault, somehow.

As much as I want to hate him, he's outgrown his Titanic self. Think about it.

Blood Diamond
The Departed
Inception
Wolf of Wall Street
Django Unchained

I think there was enough savagery to go around back then, on both sides. Then again, the director is Mexican - and they had plenty of run-ins with Native Americans themselves, who knows.

To a lesser extent; Shutter Island

I've read several books about Glass, his story is fascinating. I hope Hollyweird doesn't fuck it up too much.

Looks really good; so good it might get me into a movie theatre and break my 5 year absence record...

Now if they will just redo the story of Liver Eat'n Johnson. The Redford one was good; but it needs an update.

Hugh Glass' story is a true classic for trappers.

I remember my grandfather showing it to me in FFG.

Incredible history of this man and Ashley's Hundred. Cant wait for the movie and think Leo has only begun to show his acting prowess.

Great thread!

I can't wait for this one to come out. I recently read the book and just finished reading Lord Grizzly. It is the same story of Hugh Glass, but solely from Hugh's perspective. I am anxious to see if the movie is as good as the book.
