You know the one that is starting to bug me is Kristen Wiig. I don't get her appeal. The dead-pan thing that she does was funny for about 2 minutes in "Knocked Up" but for me that's where it ends.
She is in so many movies right now it's insane. They just keep coming out and coming out, every time I turn around there's another one. Someone in Hollywood obviously thinks she's funny. The talent pool is really watered down right now methinks. |

Paul Fieg knows how to do good movies. Spy was hilarious and I'm sure the new Ghostbusters will be on par with the originals. They beefed (hehe) up the role so it'll be bigger... so to speak... |

Everyone knows its going to flop, knows its going to suck, knows it will never top Ghostbusters 2, (let alone Ghostbusters), but they are still making it. Hollywood loves to take popular franchises from the 80's and make new versions that are essentially spoofs of the original.
I hate this. |

I think they're going to fuck up one of my favorite childhood movies.
I can't see anything with Melissa McCarthy being anything other than a disaster. |

The remake was happening; Paul Feig beat out the original guys coming back and the Russo Bros/Channing Tatum project which officially died not long after they started pre-production. |

The female-cast remake of one of the greatest movies of all time make me think it would be better if ISIS just ended us all before it could get any worse.

90% of GD will go see it then come back here and post about how it was "awesome" and "badass" then forget all about it a month later. This also applies to any movie in general.

First off, I don't think this is going to do very well. Second, this isn't a remake so stop crying about it. It is a spin off of sorts not really replacing the original movies. Third, this will do nothing to diminish the awesomeness of the franchise for me. I grew up watching these movies many times a year, Ghostbusters is one of the best comedies made in the 1980's.

I worked in a movie theatre when Ghostbusters came out, and in another when Ghostbusters 2 came out. They were fun movies that basically everyone enjoyed.
Loved 'em both. I have my memories...not interested in the "new" one. By the way, Tony Ri--thanks for all the glimpses inside of Hollywood that you provide. I enjoy those posts. |

looks like they beefed up the suspension ... for a good reason Probably needed some suspension work and shocks. Brakes, brake pads, lining, steering box, transmission, rear-end. Also new rings, mufflers, a little wiring. |

IDK Seems like it might be a case of good from far, far from good. I dunno. I bet that girl would be about 100x better in the sack than some of the stuck-ups stick model types I've dated in the past. You can tell just by looking at her she's fun. |

They already have a lock on the IP, and the know that remakes will put a guaranteed minimum number of asses in seats. No legal hassles from some hack writer who thinks you plagiarized the shitty script he spammed everywhere, and you so long as you keep the film under budget you know that you'll have a guaranteed return on investment. It's business, basically. There is only so much cash they're willing to risk on new IPs. |
