I would give it back to whomever lost it.
They will be along shortly looking for it.

Why the hell wouldn't you ?

Yeah pretty much this unless the owner had been causing issues with it. Hell I wouldn't mind having one myself just to mess with the animals.

Expose the owner on facebook as a peeping Tom.

I'd locate the owner and ask him a bunch of wierd questions to see if he is a liberal and if he is, I'd keep his drone.

Is it a drone or an RC plane / quad copter?
Link Posted: 7/4/2015 1:12:56 PM EDT

After giving it some nice hi def shots of my ass I'd give it back.

Disconnect power supply, load onto skeet/trap thrower, shout "PULL", apply shotgun, claim aerial drone kill in GD.
Or.

Sell for parts on craigslist.
Link Posted: 7/4/2015 1:20:14 PM EDT
[#23]
Look for a name or phone number on it so I could return it to the owner.
If I could not fined the owner I would sell it or strip it for parts.
I have 36 quad copters already.

Already warned neighbors that my property is restricted air space. Neighbor with drone abides so far. City and County do not have policy yet.

As an aside, certain full auto AEG's will tear the livin' shit outta a hobbyist's UAV. This from personal experience.

Shoot a bird and let it land on my property and you will get the same answer.

Or we can play the kick each other in the balls till someone gives up game for it... I'll kick first..

Global Hawk or a Predator? I'd build a mount for it and display it in my front yard.

if it were an FPV drone, write my addy on paper and stick it in front of the cam.

If it were a weponized NON FPV, I would walk it down to the neighbor I dont like andvTHEN rip out the GPS locator. proceed to return home wit it

http://gazette.com/fort-carson-loses-track-of-drone-colorado-springs-resident-gets-a-surprise/article/1551553

"It looked expensive," Fisk said. "I couldn't figure out who owned it, so I wrote my telephone number on a piece of paper because the camera was moving and held it in front of the camera, thinking someone would call me if they wanted it back. That didn't work out, so I called the police."

It turned out that a little military drone went on a long journey when Fort Carson controllers lost track of the 4-pound RQ-11 craft and it wandered all the way to Fisk's neighborhood on Alexander Road between Uintah and San Miguel streets.

That's nearly double the Raven's stated range of 6.2 miles.

Someones RC airplane that got away, give it back.  Something w/ a camera, they should have stayed on their own or public property.

This. I mean, what would you do if you found a baseball or a frisbee in your yard? How is this any different?

yeaaaaa.... wHAT?

I think I've discovered a new use for my CCI .45 auto shotshells which have been languishing on my ammo shelf.  I wonder what the game warden will say?

I called the cops and turned in my asshole neighbor's kid.  Turned into a vandalism charge.  Maybe they'll stop tossing it on our roof and bouncing it off my truck.

This is the correct answer.

For faux "authenticity" your friends must have AKs, a terry-cloth towel wrapped around their heads, and jump up and down on it's wings. A black flag with a smiley face painted on it would complement it all nicely.

What kind of drone.  If it is one that is armed with rockets, and bombs, that becomes a completely different thing.

A "drone", or a drone?

Some kids $100 hobby shop quadcopter I'd try and return it. Some militarized predator looking thing, I don't know, I like the idea of mounting it and putting it in my front yard.

Google around for a taxidermist.  Mount it in your Man Cave.

First thing I would do is check with my neighbor down the street to see if he is missing one, he has some pretty large "drones".

Look for ID (a lot of people put their contact info on their RC stuff).

Probably post on local RC boards that it was found.

If nobody claimed it, buy a new controller and enjoy my new drone (I have a couple of small quads and a heli).

A thinking man would place the drone so it could only see realistic plastic dinosaurs in front of the lens.
