Arizona's median age is 35.9 (younger than the national median age). That's a lot of young grandparents!

Of course, this list doesn't seem to rely on facts to make it's arguments in any state's case.

Might be interesting to see just how well the liberal states at the top of the list fare without the federal government.

Without having to pay into the feds would they be able to keep enough to set up their own welfare system to keep the FSA from burning the major cities down?  What about Medicare and Medicaid?  States would have to take that over and support it, or again, deal with riots.

And they're not the only state with problems.  All the states bordering Mexico are going to have to establish their own border force or risk being over run, even more than they are now.  Not to mention aggression between states that don't like each other or over water and food.

But somehow in that list they left off buying new 30-round magazines. And all that math is just science and numbers and stuff.

Yeah and how they leave out state debt per capita, natural resources, etc etc.  yup just because they used some math and not others they are moar righter.

Butthurt surplus in here.

At least Michigan dominates the world in production of strawberries, tomatoes and wine grapes.  So, there's that, launching them to #38.

Any poll that ranks the top five most communist states in America as the "most independent" has absolutely zero credibility.

Yes, I understand the criteria. It's still bullshit.

Yea we're a poor state, but we'd be fine on our own here. Plenty of wildlife and land for food, trees for heat. The electricity we'll have to figure out unless we just drop back a few hundred years . The best part would be all the lazy fsa would move away, since they'd have to actually work to live. maybe partner up with VT NH for trades ect.

Winter would suck.

As independent nations....The coastal states would be the most powerful as they would control imports/exports. Clearly they would need a major cultural/ideological turn around or they would get subjugated by the land locked states.

HAHAHA!.. NY it's own country. Yeah, sure we will be.

We have a negative power creation rate.
We have little international trade outside of Wall Street and NYC tourism.
We have operated in the red for how long now?
Infrastructure is circa 1930's.

Yeah sure, it's own country.

Texas would rapidly devolve into a poor, corrupt  third-world nation, run with an iron hand  by conservative oil billionaires and right-wing Christians.     The wealthy would allow millions of illegal workers to come in and displace Texans (cheap wages).    Health care?   Worker Safety?  Education?    Investment in public works?   President-for-Life Rafael Teodoro "Ted" Cruz doesn't care!
