Mostly overhand, sometimes with slide release.

Under stress, almost certainly overhand.

I'm confused, why would it be any different than on factory ammo?

Slide locked back, insert mag, use slide release.

Slide forward on empty chamber, insert mag, rack slide back and release when it hits the stops.

Thumb release is better/faster, but I still find myself slingshotting under pressure.

Reloading the handgun, not reloaded ammo.

Sling shot, I feel the slide release is too small to use if I ever actually have to use my pistol and fine muscle movement has gone to shit.

My HK releases the slide when a mag is inserted.

Voted strong hand slide release, but on a few guns i don't have to move my hand position to get the mag release reliably and, on those, I'll hit the slide release with my weak hand.

Hand over the top is slow.

Practice both.

Slide release is faster, but slingshot should be muscle memory.

It's not a slide release.

And why would you want to complicate the manual of arms?

My HK has a slide release attached to the slide stop. I'm about to dremel it off and smooth it down on the left side so it no longer works as a release except on the right side. I use overhand method anyways but my thumbs up shooting barely touches the release and it drops on empty mags every time. Unacceptable.
