I really think you really should consider 'The Story of GI Joe'

Filmed during the war, the true story of Ernie Pyle played by Burgess Meredith covering the European Theatre
Realistic battle scenes and Robert Mitchum was great

You missed Cross of Iron. I did not really look for it but If it is not on there then Memphis Bell needs to be added.
