I predict

Down sharply at open

Slow recovery, less than 100 down by lunch

Sell off in the afternoon, maybe 200 down

Closes down less than 100

On the books, just another weak day, no big deal.

Up 100+ tomorrow.

Speaking of defaults, 'Puerto Rico Governor Calls Debt Unpayable as Deadlines Loom.'

"Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla said investors should be prepared to sacrifice if they want the island’s economy to grow, the New York Times reported, citing an interview last week.
The debt is not payable,” the governor told the Times. “There is no other option.”

Puerto Rico

It's only $72 Billion.

lol

the fed will make available unlimited amounts of money for repurchase agreements. Targeted at the largest stocks of the index. Everything else could go down but they won't so the "big number" they report on the news will be just fine.

If the :big number" is ok everything is.

They play with the  market on a daily basis folks. There a tons of games they can play to get an outcome they want. Depending upon the politics of the moment

Greece does not have a pot to piss in and they like it that way. Its the EU that doesn't.

He mentioned that he was going to short this morning with an aim for the DJIA to be in the 10K territory by COB.

In other words, he's now poor as fuck and trying to get 5 bucks per handy on a streetcorner somewhere.

Yeah if I had angry crowd throwing molotovs at me that'd be a "weapons free" kind of moment, and would remain so until they stopped trying to burn me alive.

I know you are not the OP and are just summarizing his intentions....

In what reality can the DOW fall over 7k points in a single business day? Even self published fiction writers aren't that daft anymore.

Markets selling off big time now....speeding up. Even a gap down in the middle of the day. Not a good sign.

I never said they would fall 8,000 points in one day. That is just where it might end up.
