For the mag well and receiver sides, I'm thinking more plastic. For the fire control pins, I'm thinking dog tags, since they can be preprinted with serial numbers and NFA trust info for those so inclined, or with whatever other text the builder might desire. For the rear, I'm undecided. I like Boris' idea of the shaped sheet steel, but I'm looking for something easier for the masses (myself included) to reproduce. Mag well shrinks too, which is a problem. This particular receiver was cast in a mold I already knew had problems. Call it a proof of concept. |
