Tales from the gunshop: How to upsell.
Customer calls, asks if we have .380" ammo for her pistol. Why yes, we do. She comes in. I point out where the training ammo is, and where the good stuff is, at a $1 a shot. She brings over some Hornady premium, and asks,"Now if I shoot someone in the chest w/ this, they'll go down?" Why no ma'am, pistol ammuntion sucks. We don't hunt deer w/ pistols, we use rifles & shotguns. She came in for $20 of .380" - she left w/ a 12 ga shotgun.
