"Among other things, their lawsuit argues that the officers thought they had disabled all of the security cameras at Sky High Holistic and therefore had a reasonable expectation of privacy. The cops complain that the dispensary never got their permission to record them as they searched the premises. "

Is there any legitimate reason for the cops to disable cameras/recording devices?

That's pretty damn brilliant having a secondary, covert camera system.

Sorry, but there is no way to know how reliable the stats are... A  good idea to really know the truth..make a law requiring a polygraph anytime an officers ethics are questioned... I bet the results would be far different and far more accurate then the current "stats"...........

And yet many PD's currently use them to clear suspects in ongoing investigations...So why is it good enough to use on  citizens but not for leo?

Then there shouldn't be any problem with each of the officers submitting to a full drug test, polygraph, and an investigation into there life style.

Santa Ana Police Marijuana Edibles Scandal: Lawsuit Filed To Bury Video Of Officers Eating At Orange County Pot Dispensary

Three Santa Ana, California, police officers who raided a medical marijuana dispensary earlier this year were reportedly caught on camera eating pot-laced candy and want to block use of the footage during the investigation.

The unidentified officers, along with their union, the Santa Ana Police Officers Association, filed a lawsuit last week to prevent the department's internal affairs investigators from using the video in their investigation of the May 26 raid of the Sky High Collective dispensary.

Video confirms Santa Ana cops eating marijuana edibles during raid

The Weekly published four minutes of the footage, which they believe provides the most compelling evidence of bad cops getting high on the job.

At one point, an officer in a yellow shirt can be heard saying, There are some good looking chocolate bars back there.” Minutes later, a bald-headed cop says, “These bars are pretty good. I kinda feel light-headed though,” talking with his mouth full.

I am not any kind of drug user..but from what I have heard the pot now days is way way more potent then the pot of 30-40 years ago..most is a very specialized hybrid with certain traits designed in..wouldnt surprise me at all if that is true if it carries over to cooked things as well...although I would think it would take at least a few minutes to notice effects..but i don't know....

Video confirms Santa Ana cops eating marijuana edibles during raid

The Weekly published four minutes of the footage, which they believe provides the most compelling evidence of bad cops getting high on the job.

At one point, an officer in a yellow shirt can be heard saying, There are some good looking chocolate bars back there.” Minutes later, a bald-headed cop says, These bars are pretty good. I kinda feel light-headed though,” talking with his mouth full.

Back in the wonder years it took 15-30 minutes for "daddys concert brownies" to take any noticeable effect.

Doubt its any different now.

Edibles are much stronger than smoking.  You don't just cook marijuana into stuff.  THC is fat soluble. So they extract the THC from the plants with butter, oil, etc and then use that to make edibles.  Regardless of how strong it is, there is no way that guy was high immediately after he started chewing.  I am sure they were all really fucked up about two hours later.
