Thank you AZ-Sky ! I'm going to try that , sounds good.

I do like the sweeter tasting BBQ sauces.  And i just added some to the list to try from other posters.

Win for what's available in grocery stores.

Best is from Jones BBQ (James Beard award winner).  He used to give you a bottle full of sauce served in a pint bottle from whatever kind of whiskey he drank, but now he uses empty vegetable oil containers or empty water bottles.

Rendevous is overrated.  Very much so.

I do like their dry rub though.

Never made my own from scratch! Kinda want to now!

I love the Sweet Baby Ray's, I usually put in some cider vinegar and mix it up for some tang.

That's a good call on the ACV into Sweet Baby Rays.    SBR's is what I use in rush or camping/convenience and I think that's one thing it needs for on meat.  For use as a straight up dipping sauce I can use SBR's as is.

I make my own when I got the time,  minced whole onion, catsup, molasses, ACV, mustard and spices.   I like a lot of different stuff but my own go to style is similar to SBR's hence why I grab it.   I like a smokey molasses flavor but not overly sweet like honey does.  Although the honey if mildly done can work on chicken for me.

It might be because it is what we used growing up but I always keep Open Pit around. I'll usually have another kind or two as well, but those change based on what catches my eye.

I use a half'n'half mixture of Jim Beam and either Shed Spicy Vinegar or Shed Southern Sweet.

After years of buying Sweet Baby Ray's I switched over recently to Head County early this year. It is the superior sauce.

Us coonasses grew up on this stuff.  Occasionally I'll use some Stubb's or Sweet Baby Ray's.

Rendezvous dry rub is great, but definitely the most overrated "barbecue" (their ribs aren't even real barbecue, they're grilled) in the city.

Dancing Pigs and Hog Wild are my two favorite sauces here.

I can't believe how many people here seem to enjoy Sweet Baby Rays. But then, you see so much of that crap at the grocery store, someone has to be buying it.

Anyone wanting to explore a whole big world of barbecue sauces and dry rubs, call up Memphis Barbeque supply on Stage Road down here and order an assortment of stuff to try from them. Very knowledgeable staff.

Jacobi's. It's made in southern Indiana, my parents send it to me when they visit family there. It's really awesome.

Sweet Baby rays for sweet and Bull's-eye for a tarter tangier flavor.  I make my own east Carolina vinegar sauce. No store bought I have ever tried stands up to it.

Try Uncle Yammy's.  Its the best store bought vinegar bbq sauce.  I buy it at food lion.

McClard's ! They have been making sauce for 87 years. This is not sweet candy sauce! It is a balance of heat and spices that is faintly sour. It is excellent!

For the most part, none. I haven't found that it generally improves good bbq. If you find yourself looking for better sauce, I would suggest looking for better bbq...
