Honestly... one of my least favorite episodes. i didn't think the actor playing Early was all that good, too much mouthing lines without "being" the character.. more of a poser. I was also bugged by the threat of raping Kaylee, totally unnecessary.
Overall, it didn't play for me and seemed artificial and contrived. just my reaction. |

After the movie Serenity, I started to think maybe Jubal Early was a failed operative. Far too unstable for the precision and calm required of an Alliance Operative, but too capable and dangerous to try and kill. Well suited to work as a bounty hunter so the Alliance used him rather than try to destroy him.
But, I could be wrong and probably am. Anyway he's an awesome, creepy as fuck character and a great one for River to foil. But it's not my favorite episode; mine is "Out of Gas." |
