best comment so it took them six years to put together an album which WAS SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE CRAP? this album is awful. period. no qualifiers, no spin, no bullshit about "what they were going for" or "what they were going through"...if you took 1000 varied metal fans who (i know, this isn't possible, just a hypothetical for argument's sake) never heard of metallica or this album and played it for them, every last one of them would say it was shittier than that fucking river in India that half a billion people use as a sewer. And just to clarify my stance, I love Metallica. but this album sucks a big fat floppy donkey dong. View Quote |

I am a huge Metallica fan. St Anger is the only album I have misplaced, and dont care about it. Every song is crap.
Bob Rock was a shit influence. |

Now replace the the snare with duck quacks and I'll be doubly impressed.

Nothing and I mean nothing good has come out of them since and justice not one song

Nothing after AJFA exists to me.
ETA: Except for Garage inc. |

You wanna talk about a fucking AIDS covered turd? How about Lulu with Lou Reed?

I remember buying the CD when it first released, putting it in my truck stereo and leaving the record store. As soon as I heard the auditory abortion I thought there must have been a mistake and some random CD was accidentally put in the wrong case.
Nope. |

I have recorded punk in a garage with better quality. |

I've been a Metallica fan since Ride the Lightning came out and I have bought most of the albums up to the black album at least 3 or 4 times over the years. Can't pay me enough to listen to their "new" garbage. |

Ajfa was the last good one, but mop is their best work without a doubt.

Death Magnetic was full of songs that had potential, but veered off into WTFland, for a sum total of absolute garbage. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
I agree with this assessment. |

What. The. Fuck? That isn't the sound of snare drums. That's the sound of someone hammering nails into a roof. A convenient sound, because I'd rather fall off a roof, and have my neck break my fall, than listen to that coathanger abortion disguised as an album again.

St. Anger was the worst piece of crap ever.
ETA: I lasted 36 seconds. |

Metallica jumped the shark with the black album. They are and have been a sad parody of themselves since then. They ARE Spinal Tap.

Actually I think this is the best comment:
This is the musical equivalent of adding Jar Jar Binks to all of the Star Wars movies. View Quote |

Dunno WTF they were thinking when they got rid of Flemming Rasmussen. I get that (with the exception of AC/DC) bands change musical styles as they age. Shit that you write/record when you are 20-30 isn't gonna be the same as when you are 30+. And you wanna try different things. Unless Metallica wanted to see how bad they could sound, I don't see what the logic was in the direction they took after Justice. And I say that as a disappointed, longtime fan, not some hater. |

The number one problem with Metallica is Lars. He's a whiny little bitch and a shitty drummer.

While old metallica is best metallica, I like the newer stuff (relatively speaking as load is 20 years old) for what it is. However, St. Anger is an absolute pile of fucking Miley Cyrus Aids infested dog shit. They new it was shit.
Death Magnetic was a step in the right direction. |
