Quoted: "No Way Out" with Kevin Costner has the most surprising ending of any movie that I have ever seen. I was rooting for Costners character the whole movie and at the end of the movie I hated myself for not realizing that he was the enemy. Is there a movie with a more surprise ending? View Quote Saw that movie in the theater. To this day, it still pisses me off. |

Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry. That has to be the hardest movie to find on DVD or BluRay. Came here to post this movie. Try here, found many |

Blazing Saddles. "Get 'em, girls!"
Also The Road. What an inspiring, uplifting end to an otherwise bleak depressing film |

Frailty with Matthew Mcconaughey, Bill Paxton and Powers Boothe. Great ending.

End of Watch had kind of a surprise ending.
Regardless, it's one of the hardest endings in a film for me to watch. |

Don't know how surprising it was, but the ending scene in "The Drop" was fantastic. Made the whole movie IMO. Was that movie any good? I still need to see it. Damn good, Gandolfini did a pretty good job Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

"Looking for Mr. Goodbar". Everyone in the theater sat in disbelief as the credits rolled back in the '70's, now it would probably be no big deal. He also had a cameo appearance in a episode of Third Watch as a drunken burnout. |

Quoted: Let me rephrase my question. I'm not looking for a movie that merely has a surprise ending. Those are a dime a dozen. Is there another movie where you spend the entire movie rooting for what is revealed at the end of the movie to be the antagonist, and you think to yourself "how could I have been so fucking stupid"? Fuck The Mist. They took a pretty good, classic Stephen King story and fucked the ending all the way to hell and back. In the book Click To View Spoiler they get away from the supermarket and to a hotel, and the dad hears a brief, one word transmission on the CB right before he is going to turn the set off, which leads the reader to the conclusion that they have a place to go. , but no...they have to make a worse ending for the movie.

The "bad" ending was on purpose-they wanted to end it in a way that would prevent a shitty sequel. Remember Pet Sematary 2? People would bitch about a happy ending in a Stephen King movie too, this prevents a bad sequel. The possibility of it ending that way was also suggested in the original story, there's a line something like "when the time comes I'll find another way for myself". Take it as a warning to never give up, the character did and look what happened. |
