"No Way Out" with Kevin Costner has the most surprising ending of any movie that I have ever seen. I was rooting for Costners character the whole movie and at the end of the movie I hated myself for not realizing that he was the enemy. Is there a movie with a more surprise ending?

Don't know how surprising it was, but the ending scene in "The Drop" was fantastic.  Made the whole movie IMO.

"Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry."

(Personally, I think Scorsese totally fucked up the end of "The Departed.")

I just watched this again. Man they really gave away the ending. I don't know how I missed it the first time I watched it.

Another case of a great ending being changed ( and fucked up) by Hollywood.

I really enjoyed it.  It's kind of a slow burner until the end but it builds everything up.  That said, I wouldn't call it slow or boring, it just kind of sets up the story.

One of Tom Hank's most underrated films.

I have a DVD copy of DMCL and was wondering the same thing.

Vanishing Point (the original) has an ending one doesn't quite expect.

No Country For Old Men had a surprising ending.  I couldn't stand the movie, but thought the ending was great (not just because it was over).  I just wish the rest of the movie had been that fresh and surprising, rather than a dull, miserable, uneventful plodding mess with unbelieveably dumb and unlikeable characters.
