DART Police arrest going viral
A video of a downtown Dallas DART Police arrest is going viral. It was posted Friday night on a law enforcement Facebook page. The incident happened May 7, but is just hitting the internet. There are two concerns: the conduct of the officer and the conduct of the crowd. The crowd is jeering a DART officer trying to make an arrest in the Rosa Parks train station in the Dallas West End. DART spokesman Morgan Lyons says the man had been banned from the station, and the officer was trying to arrest him, but the suspect was fighting. It appears the crowd thinks the officer has the man in a chokehold, but at times, it looks like the officer's arm is also across his chest, not just his neck. No one moves to help the officer until about 1 minute and 20 seconds into the tape, and that's when things escalate. About 30 seconds later, a backup officer arrives and things calm down. Wow, you cannot even help a police officer in distress without becoming a target yourself. This country is truly fucked. There was nothing wrong with the guy helping the cop, the crowds actions were what you can come to expect from here on out. Watch your asses fella's, I for one would risk it to help an officer in need. Racist thugs.

I don't know which is worse, having to ride that cheap fake segway thing, or working the West End station. |

Copy/Paste from that thread:
So I'm on the way to work and around 6:40am I'm driving right through downtown at Elm St & Lamar and there is a DART bus stop there.... I look over and see a police officer wrestling with a black man. He's obviously trying to arrest him but the dude was putting up a fight. I watched for a minute then the light turned green. I turned and pulled over, walked over there to see if he got it under control. A crowd began to gather, and I'm sure you can guess what the ethnicity of the crowd was. They were yelling at the police officer, calling him a racist pig, telling him to let the man go he didn't do anything, etc. I stepped to the side and called 911 to let them know the officer was struggling, and a crowd was gathering. They said they were trying to get officers there but everyone was tied up.... So I walk back over, and at this point the crowd is 50 or so people, most recording what was going on with cell phones. The officer was loosing the fight. The guy was trying to reach around to the officers belt where his gun was, the crowd wouldn't back away, and the officer couldn't let go long enough to do anything different. I walked up to the side of the officer and told him I called and help is on the way. He asked if I wanted to help and I said yell me what to do. He asked me to help him get his hand that he was reaching with around to his back.... So I jump down there to help and that's when all hell broke loose.... Copypasta from that thread: The crowd immediately started yelling at me. Calling me every name in the book. White devil, nigger hater, piece of shit, racist fuck, you name it. A beer bottle was thrown at me, I was spit on, it was fucked up. A few seconds of this and one of them ran up behind me and shoved me to the ground. The officer pepper sprayed that dude so he backed off. I got back into the situation and got the dudes hand behind his back and held it there while the officer watched the crowd with his pepper spray. Other officers finally made it on scene and I got up and out of their way. People were telling me I'm a coward, and to watch my back because they were going to put a hole in it, etc. The dude that got arrested was a drug dealer that sells at the bus stops. The officer told me that they were going to try and charge the guy that pushed me with felony assault of a law enforcing public servant since I was acting under the officers instruction at the time. I left there feeling good.... I felt like I had done the right thing. But that was quickly overshadowed by how pathetic our society is becoming. People targeting me because I helped an officer that was in trouble. Regardless of if the dude was guilty or not, he was still fighting the officer and the officer was at a standstill... And the only thing anyone else was concerned with was recording the incident waiting for the officer to mess up, with the help of everyone else around provoking the situation. I am not racist. But seeing what I experienced this morning makes it hard not to be. I'm actually depressed about what I experienced this morning. Not because I took anything personally.... But because this problem is growing and nobody can do anything about it. I'm raising children to live in this society. |

There's something happening here
And what it is ain't exactly clear.... |

the racism is very telling. Should black people be given a free pass to commit whatever crimes they want to commit?

I liked the "get your white hands off him" comment. Oh looky here.... who is racist now. I seems today that blacks are acting the same way as racist whites did 60 years ago. I guessing two wrongs do make a right. Soon, whites will be marching for equal rights. I'm not the sharpest tack on the roof, but this can't be good for the country. |

Its got potential to be a very interesting summer. I noticed that the news make to notice of the racism of the blacks hanging around there, if the races were reversed do you think they would fail to mention what the crowd said and did?

Racism in America today is largely the trademark of people who are one or more of the following:
Black Media Liberals. Unfortunately, after Ferguson, blacks have doubled down on being racists as you see in this video. What a shame. LBJ's Great Society has destroyed the black family and Obama has set back racial harmony four decades. I am having a discussion on race in America today. What black/liberal/media is willing to see reality and stop this decline towards further unrest and possibly worse? What liberals here (you know who you are) are willing to see reality? |

WTF
That officer looked incredibly restrained, if he is going to reprimanded for anything it's using too little force. |

Years ago when I worked in an auto parts store in Tampa I spent the end of my time with the company in a black area of town. The rule of the area was I could stop the shoplifter and then escort him out of the store but don't try to hold him for the police. That would have gotten me attacked by the crowd but there was an exception made if the shoplifter fought. Crazy ass fucking place and I am glad I am no longer down there. I do miss all the great latin food though. |

Good on that guy for helping out, especially in the midst of those racists scum bags. No way I would be a police officer in one of these urban shit holes nowadays. Thanks media, thanks Obama, Holder, Sharpton, et al for making our jobs so much harder and putting people's lives in jeopardy. Fucking assholes.

Yea, but I think it is getting a bit pervasive now, where every arrest is questioned and challenged. Every shooting is a media event to be exploited, where the cops are wrong until proven right. Add in idiotic and irresponsible comments from the highest office in the land, and you have a real recipe for extreme derp. |
