So now we don't have to see more videos from the OCTards?
Fuck yea! More importantly, Congrats Texas and getting another right restored!!!! |

I, for one, am glad my overlords are going to permit me to ask permission to bear arms... So my state became .005% less faggy today. I guess I'll take it.

I'm sorry, but isn't this the same bill that everyone was panic struck about two months ago? Bitching about how the representatives said there was no chance of it getting through? And about which Texans were moaning to anyone who would listen about how they got screwed over again and blah blah blah?
I guess my point is, I got tired of hearing about how it was never going to pass and how you all got screwed again. And you started all that before the session was even closed and it was assured that you wouldn't get it through. Have some patience next time. Write letters, make calls, visit your reps. And remain steadfast. But don't give up before the fight is over. And don't create 50 threads about how your lives are miserable in Texas without OC and bitching to whoever will read about how screwed over you were. / end rant Congratulations on the win. |

View Quote This was a bit of a Cinderella story. The bill you reference was from the Senate and is still stalled in the House and has been since March iirc. The Senate picked up the passed House bill and ran it to the goal line. |

And that's great news! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that another wall has been knocked down regarding gun rights.
I just remember reading thread after thread after thread about people bitching that it was over, that everyone and everything sucks, that the sky is falling, etc. "Poor us" type shit. And it got morose and eventually dull and boring to hear the same shit over and over again. It's great they passed it. And hopefully the governor will sign it. Just stop with the "poor us" threads, alright? |

I'm going to need an alligator holster for my BBQ 1911.
Should my holster match my boot color? |

Anyone have an actual link to the full text of this bill? I can hardly wait to deal with stupid citizens calling about this " man with a gun OMG!"

If this is signed, you'll still need a permit to open carry a handgun? I guess that's better than nothing.

I guess time will tell, not really looking forward to it either way..............

No. If I recall correctly this Texas bill would restrict it to permit or having a CCW to open carry. So still behind a state that allows proper permitless carry. Many states do not require a permit for OC. Hope either I remember wrong or Texas changing the wording. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Yes, Senators West and Ellis spoke to kill Huffman's poison pill Amendment to Huffines' Amendment, but they did it to secure the protections against racial profiling in Huffines' Amendment. Both knew the overwhelming momentum carrying the bill. I don't believe that either of them voted for HB 910. |

Fuck yeah! I myself don't plan on open carrying, but I am happy for my Texas brethren who now have the right to. same here. There's a lot of positives even if you don't "plan" on OC'ing. I've been in several situations like at dinners, weddings, etc where it would have been nice to be able to take off a suit jacket or sport coat when you sat down to dinner but I OWB and couldn't. And those HOT summer days now have a few more options. |
|
But when did FL start concealed carry? Don't forget, we can't scare off the sheep... er, tourists, OC'ing all those icky guns. Cede Dural, Hillsborough, Dade, and a couple other counties to Puerto Rico and Florida would be better off! |
|
Meanwhile in Illinois we have a mile long list of places we cannot carry. Can't wait to flee this state.
