first kick was probably wake up call to see how the home owner would react. Tactic is to run up and pop the door then run/hide and watch to see who shows up. 30 mins is long enough for the police to arrive. If no one shows then you come back to do your thing.
there have been a few stories/videos with similar patterns on the forum. my questions are 1) In a situation like this with someone kicking in your door, what would happen If you fired through the door blind to hit the aggressor. 2)In this situation if you could identify that the aggressor had a weapon via camera, what would happen if you fired through the door to hit the aggressor. firing from the top of the stair case if possible, downwards through the front door, through the porch and into the ground makes for a fairly good back stop... I would hesitate until the door came open, but that makes me wonder if I would hesitate when I had a clean shot too. |

Once you have multiple guys in your house, and some of them are waving around guns, no one will expect you to carefully inspect each one before filling the hallway with bullets. In NC nope. Nothing would happen to the homeowner even if he killed every single one. and none of the angelic "about to turn their life arounds: heir.family have any recourse as well. all risk from the legal system rests solely on the shoulders of the invader. Which is as it should be. Now in a situation such as the one in the OP. anything will do. Some better, but bunched up like that in a doorway. it hardly matters really. I know on this site the AR is everything including the best way to slice bread AND bake a cake. but for this...meh. because of the intruders does not really matter. |

They just had a security expert on FNC that says all we need is a safe room, flashlight, prop rods to help brace the doors, and a cheap burner phone to leave on the charger in the safe room. Never mentioned a rifle or shotgun so we're all doing it wrong. I'm going to work on seeing how fast I can find and move everyone in the house to a safe room, there's eight of us so I got my work cut out for me.
