I took the vid on time, but didnt get to post it on time. I was going to post two vids, one from the MRS behind me and a POV vid with my helmet cam. My dumbass forgot to take the name tape off the back of my helmet so im not posting that, but took some screen caps of the vid. I also didn't call out the times since I was holding the timer in front of the camera. Reviewing the vid, you can't see it. I wanted to do more like the movie with the brush away of the gun like he did, but in real life being a lefty, I like to come up underneath a right arm with my right arm and pull it towards my right. Here I am using right arm and pushing left. Ill never win any trophies, but it was fun to set it up and try it. The F. A. S. T. Drill is rough.
I did a little practice. With an over shirt my average draw was 2.03 seconds to 1st head shot. With an tee shirt my average draw was 1.84 seconds to 1st head shot. Full on F. A. S. T Drill average with an over shirt was 7.34 seconds. With a tee shirt was 5.79 seconds. Reload is killing me. The slide catch on the Sig being where it is doesn't always go to slide lock. So I go between slide lock and power stroking... Slide lock average 2.31 seconds Power Stroke average 2.88 seconds When I competed I had lightening fast reload... Now I am slow and sloppy |

Hoped to do this drill today while at the range after a 3 gun match, but the match ran long and I had to rush to work after. Will try to have a practice session the next day or two to run the FAST drill.

BTW finally figured out the software to do what I wanted it to do https://youtu.be/lsw1aK3pw6o That's how you got the aerial view? Cool! Yup. Im hoping to make use of it in the future with stuff like this, but I really need another body to control the drone to actually make anything cool from it. It was somewhat sketchy having the drone hover in that area with trees and then lay the controller down and run and shoot the drill and get back to the drone. Although for the most part it stayed exactly where I wanted it to I will be filming a class on Saturday using the drone, that should end up being cool since I wont be shooting and can swoop in and take some videos of them doing their thing. I did 3 takes with it that day. It was the most frustrated I have ever been. I got on location to have my staple gun MIA. I then tried to press staples through the cardboard using my fingers, knife butt, etc. Fail. I then mcgivered the first target with a coat hanger. I figured Id have atleast one more coat hanger in there. Nope. So I used notebook binding. It was the most ghetto ass shit ever The first take was pretty good, but I forgot two things. 1 to turn on the go pro, and 2 to put on my ear pro because I was so worried about that damn drone. The second take, being frustrated with my first take I forgot to reload my low cap blaster Third take I sailed the headshot slightly over and had to follow up. I said screw it at this point and packed up and left |

That's for damn sure. I did my run today as I work all weekend. My numbers up above weren't on official size zones. Today I used the correct stuff as it was for score, humbling.... Best clean run was high 5 something... Lots of runs with 1-2 down either head or body... |

I'm gonna go give it a shot today. What's the bare minimum I can use for concealment? Does a loose shirt that covers my gun work?

You can even use a shoot me vest for all I care. This is one of those that just requires "concealment" but nothing specific. You don't even need it but then you take time penalties depending on holsters etc etc per the rules in the link. |

Just shot the FAST drill several times (100 rounds worth) and I only had a few clean runs. I'll try to find my fastest asap when I get home. I was by myself so I had to GoPro it. Timer decided to not work well so I'll have to get my times in Premiere when I edit it down.
I felt slowwwww. Concealment added difficulty, and I'm shooting a new gun with sights that are off so I had to aim to the right. Gotta get this thing dialed in before my next match. |

This was my best run. Draw and reload were pretty good, but my splits need some work. After this, I focused on "driving" the gun down after each shot to get on target quicker. Definitely got some good practice in, but I bet I could get this down to the low 3s if I practiced more. For my hits, on the note card one was to the far right, and the second was in the middle, bottom edge. On the 8" circle, all 4 hits were in that clump of hits already marked. There was probably 20+ rounds into that mess. That also shows how my rear sight needs to be bumped to the left a little more. Gun was a Glock 34 gen4 with Sevigny sights, Jager guide rod with 13lb spring, and el cheapo Perfecta 115gr Walmart ammo Holster was my DOH Production holster that was made locally Mag carriers were also made locally Concealment was an unbuttoned Columbia PFG shirt over my t-shirt Shot timer was the IPSC timer for Android, but it sucks so I just got the times from Premiere when editing the video down to be more precise. 1.12- Beep 2.23- Shot 1 3.07- Shot 2 4.24- Shot 3 (1.17 reload) 5:05- Shot 4 5:15- Shot 5 5:22- Shot 6 Total time: 4.1 seconds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxL7HnmnYdo View Quote What is this premier timer thing? To the left of the timeline, you'll see 6-7 spikes in the audio. The first 2 are my first 2 shots, then there is a smaller peak from my slide closing on the reload, and the next 4 are my last 4 shots. After that, the rest of the noise is from wind. To the left of the timeline, you'll see 6-7 spikes in the audio. The first 2 are my first 2 shots, then there is a smaller peak from my slide closing on the reload, and the next 4 are my last 4 shots. After that, the rest of the noise is from wind. Here's a pic of the whole thing: http://i.imgur.com/MVjsd4C.jpg Are those splits legit Draw to first shot 1.11 seconds 2nd- 0.84 sec 3rd- 1.17 4th- 0.81 5th- 0.1 6th- 0.07 Did I do that right? Maybe I wrote a wrong number down somewhere on the last two shots. I'll pull it up later and see what I screwed up. |

So I went over it with my stop watch I test my abilities with my own known times and average stopping the time roughly 0.1-0.2 seconds faster then the actual time, I was stopping on your times on average 4.25 seconds. You're definitely under 4.5 seconds, I am not sure a 0.07 second split is possible , I'd probably place you closer to 4.35-4.45 seconds but that's just my eyes and ears timing But 4.1 may be right Confirm your numbers. Then I'll post the challenge winner. |

I'm getting a total time of 4.1 no matter how I measure it (Youtube or Premiere), so I guess those last shots didn't affect it. The first 4 and total time are accurate, so who knows. |
