Sorry for the small pic, not many good ones on the net.

This is for sale in my AO, it's a 75' boat from the 20's, supposedly a revenue boat.

I wonder how much tail Hemingway managed to pull while putting around in Pilar back in the day

Not too many boats I don't like, but old center cockpit Chris Craft cruisers are my favorites.

Kind of have a thing for old piston powered Unlimiteds too.

And of course PT boats.

I went to the wooden boat show in Lake Tahoe a few decades ago.  Polished mahogany everywhere.  It was impressive.

The boat in Islamorada was not Hemingway's "Pilar". She is of similar build and age but not the same boat. Hemingway's "Pilar" was seized by the Castro Government and remains in Cuba.

Still, the "Pilar" in Islamorada has it's own colorful history. CLICK ME for the full story.

Truck shop that does my heavy mech work has a 1967 Chris Craft Super Sport with a Ford 427 FE engine, was done as a tribute to the owner, who died in a helicopter crash some years ago. SF in Vietnam/Germany. Guy was a badass.

Actually, I don't.  (no sarcasm intended).

My nautical knowledge is pretty spare.   I just love the way the older ones look.  Linky?

A yacht once owned by Thomas Edison. Now a "ghost ship" rusting away in a swamp off the Ohio river...

I snagged that picture off Google Images.  If you're interested, Google "J-Class America's Cup boats".  You might start with the Wiki article and chase links.

I think they're the most elegantly sexy thing afloat.  Or, as Charles Paine Burgess, a naval architect of the day, said of them: "They have the fascination of sin."

I knew there was renewed interest in the J Class, with several building, but I think this was the first video I've seen of them actually racing.  Thank you.

ETA: Your boat is pretty too.
