I want to sell a gen 3 G20, got an offer for a straight trade, 8 3/8" stainless steel raging bull in .44 mag.
He claims it is new in box, never fired, i will only do it face to face to confirm such a claim. G20 is newish - less than 500 rounds (seriously) ETA: since some here still think im just plain retarded - I still have a glock I am not selling, that fits my hand better, and i didnt SEEK a taurus, this trade was offered, and I started out (and still am) leaning towards no pretty hard. |
value wise it seems like a good deal for you. I wouldn't do it but that's my tainted perception of taurus speaking. If the taurus is what you want I'd do the deal.
NIB Taurus usually has the appearance of any other gun after it has been moderately used
Taurus revolvers aren't bad guns, and the dollar value is ok for the trade. But the G20 would be easier to sell than a big .44 mag.

Taurus? Fook no! Knew a guy whose hammer spur broke - not abused, just broke clean off. SKIP.

The .44 mag on up models are supposed to be quite decent from my understanding. Not going to win a beauty contest but they aughta hold their own. That being said. Keep the G20. 10mm is MOAR BETTER |

I wouldn't do it unless it was the .454
Those are the fun version of the raging bull |

Due to the amount of problems I had out of my .454 Raging Bull (lots of parts breakages) I'm going to go with FUCK NO.
Honestly, if you want a cheap .44 mag that you can shoot almost any load in, look for a Ruger Redhawk (NOT Super Redhawk). Nice guns. |

because I got a gen 4 G21, which fits my hand better, a threaded .45 ACP barrel, and a 10mm conversion barrel, so i can shoot whichever I choose now...with a suppressor, and because I dont want a semi-redundant pistol. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

No. Why the hell would you get rid of a G20? because I got a gen 4 G21, which fits my hand better, a threaded .45 ACP barrel, and a 10mm conversion barrel, so i can shoot whichever I choose now...with a suppressor, and because I dont want a semi-redundant pistol. A 20 and a 21 are the same frame size , They should fit your hand the same |

Not a bad trade if you have a gen 4 anyways I like my Raging Bull 44 6" I have a few S&W 44's and couple Rugers.... 44 is my favorite caliber The Raging Bull is a soft shooter accurate and though no S&W trigger it is not bad and through use is smoothing out....I am keeping mine I like it a lot and its been good for me...

OP, try searching Arfcom for my post about a comparison of S&W and Taurus revolvers, side-by-side with lots of pics. If you still want a Taurus you are retarded and there is no help for you. |

I really dont want one. for some reason i thought maybe it's easier to sell, or worth more. asking about that really. I dont really like wheelguns |

NO! Unless the Glock is broken and unusable which is is what the Taurus will be after you shoot it.

OP, I have a 454 raging bull, have put lots of rounds down range with it..had problems with it once..bought a box of winchester supremes for it, and got some hot loads..luckily the gun didn't kaboom, but it did distort the frame..called both winchester and taurus, taurus said send us the gun and the ammo(this was years ago)..4 weeks later I got a new gun back... and a new box of winchester supremes...no headache, no muss..just taken care of..gun always shoots, is always fun and since the 44 is built off the same frame, I would imagine it would hold up just fine in 44 mag...

Keep the G20. 10mm is MOAR BETTER I have had two Taurus 44 mag revolvers. Both failed under fire (cylinder locked up on one and timing went off on the other). Both went back and were repaired for free and then promptly sold. I will never own another Taurus. |

I vote no, I wouldn't trade a Hi-point for a Taurus muchless a glock.
Having tried several Taurus revolvers, I wouldn't have another even if someone tried to give it to me. Seriously.
Fuck no. Why the hell would you trade a gun that's gonna work for a piece of shit like a Turdus?
I would hold out and see if something else comes up on the trade market.

They are both POSs
(Not a Glock fan and I detest Taurus crap) |

Taurus quality control, reliability and durability are always questionable. Some people have been lucky, great for them. Others have not been so lucky with Taurus. I know from first-hand experience that their "Customer Service" is non-existent even on a brand new gun. I can only imagine how less than unhelpful they could be with resolving issues with a second-hand gun.
IMHO- A Taurus product may be a good gamble if you are on budget with no hopes of coming up with any more money but a G20 is a proven product and I wouldn't trade it for somebody else's problem. |

despite a lot of reading failures here, i guess i am now solidly in the no camp, i was there to start but figured i'd ask

I have a .480 raging bull and have had it for years. Works great.
Of course in GD, Taurus isn't the flavor of the month. A year ago the 92 was the best ever in this forum. |
